Caravan Newbie Question No.1

Hello everybody

We've just this weekend bought our first van, joined the CC and now I'm shopping about for insurance quotes for it.

The dealer didnt mention wheel locks to me and so I assumed that they were all generic and easy enough to fit. However, unless I have it wrong then it seems that wheel locks are specific to particular models of van and that carriers need to be fitted to hubs before they can be used - this is not something i'm likely to be able to do myself.

We have a twin axle Elddis van and the BPW diamond locks seem to be approx 250 each and I'll be needing 2 of them(?). These will also need to be fitted and I've no idea how much that will be. Is that about right?

Also, using the online insurance quote thingy here on the CC site, it seems that having these locks only saves me around £50 a year on the premium (?!?) which means I'm looking at 10 years to recoup the initial investment - hardly seems worth it!

I'm hoping I have this all wrong and somebody can put me right.

Thanks in advance!
