First time caravanners - first trip in November

We've only just bought our caravan, and we're planning our first trip this weekend - to Coniston as Mrs P is a wedding photographer and has a booking on the Sunday (what a brill excuse!)

Does anyone have any "if you do nothing else you must do this" type advice for absolute newbies? I'm not on about where to visit, I'm on about caravanning tips.

We've got a Swift Celebration 554, with dual-fuel central heating etc, and it claims to be able to keep the van at 21 degress with -15 outside... so fingers crossed.

Any reasonable advice out there???
