No Calor Gas bottles

Bought a new Bailey Phoenix 440 and taking delivery next week. Dealer has no bottles due to national shortage at Calor. I'm a nearly-newbie (used to caravan 15 years ago) so I have no bottle.

I have been trying without success to find a bottle......what a strange time we live in! So new caravan and no gas.

I am in central Scotland so I'm hoping as we get out of lockdown I can go further afield and pick up a bottle somewhere then once I'm in the 'calor club' I can go and exchange it for a full one.

Until then, mains only......

Any ideas?

We passed a Calor lorry on Monday, with plenty of gas bottle's of various sizes on, although they may well have all been empty ones! laughing

A friend uses the larger ones at home as there is no mains gas, she said she hasn't had any problems getting exchanges so far.

Some friends of ours use 40kg?calor gas bottles and have not had problems

I think calor are still having a supply problem with the smaller bottles

Winter is high season  in popular spots and we like to turn up after the "snowbirds" have flown and have the pick of sites and pitches.

We are going next month too. We will have our "toys" books and DVD  box sets but not because expect any cold or dark evenings.  We try to spend as little time as possible  indoors but by the time we have cleared off our evening meal (cooked and eaten outside) it's around 8:30ish. That's when we reach for the remote. Read a lot during the day but last hour after a glass or two of wine telly is easier 😃

My rule, when reading in the evening, is that after the third time the book drops onto my face it’s bedtime!

Nellie, I'm sorry but you completely misunderstood the above...

Allan cited his friends' observation about Spanish winters being cold and 'dark at 4pm' as one reason for them not to be wintering here. I merely responded by providing yesterdays sunrise/sunset times for Benicassim which refuted that 'generalisation'.

my post didn't reference the uk in any way...other than to say that I much prefer the warmth here (even if it's limited to 9:30 - 5:30) to the cold of back home.

I apologies, BB, I took it that you were referring to the UK when saying it was dark at 4:00. Having re-read all the posts I see where I got mixed up.embarassed
