we have just returned from arwo week holiday touring round cornwall, we stayed over night at a cc site near birmingham, we packed up butld not could not get the caravan to huck up to the car, we are new to this and could not see what we were doing wrong, so i went to see the warden and asked if he could advise us were we were going wrong, he did within minuets the jocky wheel was not low enought, we were doing our chacks ie lights, mirrows when a female from over the other side who had been watching said are you ready to move as we are wanting to go, how rude may be if you had offered we would have been off sooner,

I have no idea what happens on Club sites, but where I go I just unhitch the Caravan and lean hopefully on it, but it rarely moves.  Then burly Dutch guys appear from all sides and push. I get the beers out and hand them round and make new friends.  Don't you get Dutch guys on Club sites?  Seems not?

As a motorcaravanner, I don't have all this palaver of draining down, hitching up etc..  but I have at times been frustrated by caravanners going through these procedures.

A site that I often use has a one way system.  On more than one occasion I have been delayed by a tow car across the road while the owner hitches up, checks lights etc..  Within a few minutes, I have witnessed a queue of units (of all types) waiting to exit the site.

Thankfully, I have never witnessed any ill temper or rudeness, but I can't help thinking that there must be better / more considerate ways to do things.

Oh to have a motorhome and be so superior to the lesser mortals in the Caravan Club

If I am driving to a pitch or leaving the site and I am blocked by someone hitching or unhitching it is not a problem. If it looks as if they will be a while I merely switch the engine off and (if it's not raining) raise my hand, smile and say 'no rush'.

I often get similar treatment and so not a problem as far as I am concerned

As this would be a caravan site I would expect members to be "blocking" the road while they hitch up or reverse on to their pitch , it wouldn't be a problem for me to wait for them to finish what they are doing , people need to chill more cool

It's the same when m/vans faff about hooking up their car/trailer,or decide to fill up /drain waste at service points blocking the road instead of using dedicated m/van points but we just sit and wait wink

Me too if I am ever on sites like this, I thought it was supposed to be a relaxing pastime

While we should try to be patient, why should the road blockers assume that others don't have places to be at?

I dont bother except at home after a trip, on site it only means more water to fetch and carry at the next stop.

Not a problem. You've fill up any way. Keeps me fit going backwards & forwards, too.
