An appeal to Safefill users - and others!

I do not wish this thread to deteriorate into a debate about Safefill Cylinders and the whys and wherefores of various other makes. This is not a promotion of any product.  So please, if you are not a Safefill User, (unless you wish to assist your fellow campers, Motorhomers and caravanners which would be very welcome!) do not comment. This thread is about the effort by the ‘Leisure public’ who use Safefill cylinders to increase the chances of more fill points which can only be a positive move. Morrisons moved to facilitate Safefill after I suggested we all write to them and ask about filling a perfectly legal cylinder. People power does work and it can be a powerful force when applied. Can anyone who uses, or is about to purchase a Safefill, or would like to see fill points open up nearer to them or just simply wants to help their fellow caravanners-  please take 5 minutes to email the following Service Station Groups about filling Safefill cylinders now that the Red Guide has been amended to encompass them and Morrisons have allowed their filling.  You will get the details from the web.  I have only chosen 2 at the moment- more will follow. If we do this as a group, we can change minds as we did with Morrisons. The first is Penny Petroleum which is based in the north of England and has 42 sites I believe. They are on Twitter so that’s another way of contacting them and applying gentle pressure! The second and much larger concern is Euro Garages Group. Please help. Safefill are too small to get out there and visit everyone but they are doing their best I can assure you. Can you please post when you have sent your communication and  any results you receive to the thread Thank you so much . We need those fill points!

For heavens sake, all Merve is trying to do is help fellow members. Why all the agro! There now 11 pages for bitching mostly pulling Merve to bits, WHY!

I have moved onto a forum where the keyboard warriors are knocked back immediately and the forum is very friendly and helpful to its members. There was a time when I spent quite a bit of time on here reading, but not now I only come on to check for any new subjects.

For a supposedly friendly club, it certainly is not!

My sentiments entirely IBH.

This forum has got so stale imho, with all the pedantic bitchyness, it makes hard reading. In fact, some of the replies in my view are tantamount to trolling.

Give the man a break  FGS, he is only trying to help others, is that a crime???

For those that take offence at Merve's mention of that unmentionable word......SAFEFILL, take a while and think why. Could it be because he uses that particular brand of refillable gas bottle???

I also use SAFEFILL, I find it very convenient and cost effective, in the time that I have owned one, it has paid for itself nearly twice over in savings(£300) on the price of gas against the RIP OFF merchants that are charging way above the fair price.

This is my final post in this thread, indeed this forum. There are too many disguised trolls on here to make it friendly, I urge some of them to take a look at themselves, you know who you are.

I joined CT when it was first opened, initially it was fierce but did get better, now it's descending back to the way it was.

Yes Merve, I've emailed both and wish you luck in your quest, both on here and with the forecourts.......cool

Bravo briantimber at last the trolls are being exposed! And don't take too much notice of the false  wishes of good luck!

TF, if you are referring to me you are way out of order. Why would I not wish Merve good luck? Think back to who introduced you to another place and helped you when you were down.

I am not a troll, far from it, I have never attacked you but you see any disagreement as a personal attack. It is not so and neither is it so with Merve. It does not become you to stoop to such nastiness and I never expected to see that from you of all people.

May I suggest that if you have decided to stop posting on CT, you do just that rather than join the ranks of those who make snide and unpleasant comments about others.

“O wad some Power the giftie gie us, to see oursels as ithers see us!"

Not a dig at you or anybody TW. Somebody complained about trolls and said 'You know who you are'. But do they? Do we? It is simply that we do not always know how we are perceived. I find myself thinking 'Is it me?'

Do you not think the comment about false wishes of good luck was aimed at me?

Whatever, the situation has become farcical with people mistaking disagreement for attacks or trolling, completely misunderstanding light hearted comments and getting carried away on a wave of enthusiasm.
