Awning lighting

I know most 'vans have an awning light, but for overall illumination they're never that good. We took our xmas rope lights away with us the other year, cable-tied them to the awning poles, passed the power cable in through the kitchen window and voila, superb, non-directional but bright awning lighting for about £10. Make sure you buy the soft-cased stuff, not the ones that are like strings of LEDs in clear garden hose as these are harder to stow and run out.
