To avoid duplication, I've put these ideas briefly here, but they are covered in considerable detail in other discussion threads...

Bus passes- those amongst us (not me!) lucky enough to have bus passes can set out on excursions from the site at which they are staying without cost by using their bus pass.

CC credit card points- saving up points by putting all possible expenditure on the card, and then paying in full each month to avoid credit charges- will entitle you to a few CC club night vouchers a year- and by choosing to use them at the most expensive time, you can maximise the value - I suppose you could even sell them to people with families who would get the most value out of each voucher!

E-newspapers etc

If you are a person who has a paper every day, you can get the newspaper cheaper by having the e-version on your Kindle, ipad or tablet- and you save the newsprint and recycling. There are free apps which give you the television schedule (eg TV24) so you don't have to buy the tv magazine.
