Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

I’m with you, Steve.

A credit card with a low-ish limit is one thing but a debit card and my bank account is quite another.

I would like to ask everybody, how do you pay the utility companies and your council tax and telephone as all these come from your bank account so your details are stored and just as insecure as a debit card. Even paypal has your details ( if you use them ).

PayPal only have details of my credit card with the low-ish limit.

Utility bills are paid by direct debit from my bank account, not my debit card, and are covered by the DD guarantee scheme. It’s not quite the same thing.

As TW these are all paid by DD and covered by the guarantee scheme.

The info supplied to set up a DD is no more than is / was printed on a cheque. Sort Code, account number, bank name and your name. Normally when a card is used the number is required, plus the 3 digit security code on the back. Also why I would not let anyone out of my sight with my card.

Although you have to register a primary vehicle, you can use the card for ALL your vehicles.

We have been trialing this card for a few months now, and the 1p saving has never come into play.

We are aware that in a very few obscure Esso garages that may be cheaper on the pump price than the my Esso fuel card rate. This is why we wanted a guarantee a 1p saving. So YOU WILL ALWAYS SAVE.

Average savings on standard unleaded has been on average 10p per liter.

The beauty of this card is that it is free, no charges, no minimum use, no risk.

Ecommerce1 can you clarify the above? The terms and conditions under definitions 2.1 (b) fuel make no reference to standard unleaded.

The other fuels are all mentioned, premium diesel, diesel and premium unleaded.

Rowena, was contacted by telephone today by a gentleman saying he was from CAMHC re Esso card who stated that my registration had failed due to the fact that i registered on a Thursday but system did not go fully live until Friday and as a result my details were not stored correctly. He asked me to re-register and offered £5 credit if i went through the process again, can you confirm this is true, but more importantly can you advise where my credit card details are being held just now? thank you

They don't ask for credit card details but they are asking for debit card details, see the T&Cs.
