Just a heads up that MW have 50% or more off virtually everything this weekend and by using the code ACORN at checkout you get a further 20% off and free delivery on orders over £50. Ideal time to stock up on walking boots and wet weather gear! smile

MW sales can be incredible. I once dropped on a £150 jacket, which after all the discounts I finally got for .....£12😁

We've always found their stuff to be good quality for the price, although you have to take their stated "original price" with a pinch of salt sometimes. Never bothered with paying for next day delivery as most orders have been with us within a couple of days anyway.

Nellie - if the Penzance store is anything like the ones at Padstow and St Ives it won't necessarily have a very full stock but you can always do click & collect which is free. And if you're coming back up the A30 when you leave Cornwall they have a new larger store at Kingsley Village outlet centre, right next door to a M&S food hall, which probably explains the number of times Mrs M pays a visit when we're down there! laughing

We use the outlet at Clarks Village near Glastonbury, discounts on the discounts. Trouble is I now have too many jackets and waterproofs. wink

Darn and Blast it. I have nothing that's needs replacing or wearing out, apart from myself that is, but I bet I will in about 3 weeks time.laughing

Thanks for the heads up though M.

It's always worth checking their website on a Thursday; they seem to do this offer about once a month or so. Mrs M had just  bought a pair of boots from them which is probably why we got an email. So we've taken advantage and ordered more stuff even though strictly speaking we don't need it at the moment (and it is her birthday in just over a week's time - she always says she wants "clothes" but I got in such trouble when I took that to mean pants & socks! laughing)

It’s a nice big store in Penzance. I got some walking trousers when we were there. You always get some discount on the “original price”, but can drop on some good deals.

It's a decent pair of waterproof walking boots that I really desperately need, preferably all leather with vibram soles. I will just have to see what they have in stock. Will the ACORN discount apply at the shop's checkout or is it just for on line sales do you know? Do need to try  boots on in a shop rather than just ordering them on line and hoping that they fit. I find sizes vary so much between make.😖

Also, buy from Mountain Warehouse online (or click & collect), place the item in your basket, go through the motions of checking-out, but don’t complete the transaction (or enter payment details). Leave it like that for a while and when you next look, they’ll offer you a further 10% discount via promo code to complete the purchase. You’ll have to sign up for email marketing, but just unsubscribe if you don’t want them.

Nellie - the email says on line and in store so you should be ok. Have a look at theit leather  "Latitude Extreme" walking boots. I bought a pair a while back, before this latest offer and they're fantastically comfortable and hard wearing (so far). I've just bought a couple of pairs of fabric "adventurer" boots which will be perfect for walking the dogs,  though I suspect,  not so good for more strenuous outings. smile
