sorry, but where has the massively informative thread entitled " How to survive a non 240v site" gone? I do hope it hasn't been Deleted User as its all about non EHU - not the CCs favourite subject?

Merve, I have just spent 30 mins or so searching for that thread myself!

I have only part read it thus far but its been massively informative.  Thank you for making regular contributions - and indeed to the other contributors.  I should hate to think that such a trove of information has been lost to the ether.

Please CC, are you able to restore it to its rightful place from your back-ups?  DD

All is not yet lost!

Rochelle provided this update yesterday in the "New Website" discussion:

We’ve also been having a few issues migrating all the threads and stories from the last website to the new, that’s why you may see that some posts are missing, or some comments are missing from the threads – IT are looking into this and the posts will be recovered in due course.

Cheers

Bugs

As the IT department operates on a geological timescale, soon, shortly or in due course probably means not in my lifetime

DD - my pleasure. The way caravanning is going at the moment I don't think that I am overstating it when I say that it must be one of the most important threads on here. A must read for all non EHUers and folk thinking about it.

IT was a very useful and informative thread and it's a pity that it has disappeared into Grimstead Towers  "Black Hole" .

Any competent IT department will have taken backups before embarking on any kind of upgrade, so that thread referred to in the OP will be on their backup.  It is an easy job to selectively restore from backups;--- so now that Grimstead has been alerted to the omission, we should see it appear on the new forum almost immediately.

Unless !!!!!
