Great Site - Wonderful Host

Spent a long weekend here for a conference. Gary was extremely helpful and friendly and the site was easily accessible, quiet and well kept. Ideally situated for a journey break being about 10 minutes from theM1. Will certainly return.

Great Site - But

I visit over 50 different Club Sites and C/L's each year and don't normally write reviews as I feel that my opinions are not necessarily those of other members. However I feel that members should be made aware that this site does not accept dry waste (rubbish) at all. I believe (but am not sure) that one of the three requirements for being granted a C/L certificate is that dry waste facilities must be provided. I have not seen this at any of the other 300+ c/l's I have used (although one charged for a council sack, but this was pointed out in the site directory/website). My main gripe about the situation was not the fact that it wasn't taken, but that nowhere was it mentioned until after I had arrived. This site is wonderful but I feel that the waste situation spoils it.

Peaceful and relaxed

We've just spent two nights at this lovely CL. In summary the site is well cared for, peaceful and relaxing. We didn't meet Gary & Anne as they were away but Anne was in touch a few days before to let us know which pitch we were on and agree our arrival time. It was all very easy and the people who helped us in Anne's absence were friendly. The disposal point for the toilet is a drain which might have put me off if I'd known beforehand but was, in fact, easy and hassle-free. I was also surprised to have to take our rubbish home with us but this is only our 2nd CL visit so perhaps this is normal on sites with few facilities. We visited Coombe Abbey Country Park (approx 12m away) which was a fabulous day out. The kids enjoyed the two adventure playgrounds and ice cream van and we enjoyed the beautiful grounds, swans and walks. For £3.65 parking only it was a good bargain. We'd definitely stay here again should our travels take us this way.
