We stayed here with friends and found it was a lovely site, grass was well cut and what a lovely big feild to stay in, no problems with being too near to your neighbours. Pub next door was a bonus as it was a night off cooking and good pub grub with excellent home brewed beer. We love the area, visited Helmsley on the really wet day and then went walking on the other days, such a pretty village, quiet location and lovely countrysideA
BRILL SITE
MR FISHER IS A NICE BLOKE
AND HIS SITE IS
PERFECT. LOOKS AFTER HIS CAMPERS AND I WILL RETURN IN THE NEAR FUTURE!
Lovely site
We have visited this site many times over the last few years, but in recent visits we have been disappointed with the restricted access due to the over grown trees, as mentioned in previous review. The length of the grass, the overgrown hedgerows and the general lack of care recently, has been disappointing. More importantly on our last few visits there have been 6 vans on this 5 van site, this is not counting the rally field.

Superb site!
What's not to like about this little piece of heaven. We actually stopped in the back field with the views which only has a part time license, the track is a little tight, no problem but just needs a trim. When we stayed the grass was a bit too long (no hardstanding) and just a bit soft after heavy rain - but that's really picky. Main gate set back so you can arrive and leave without staying out on the road. Chemical waste is a direct manhole with a raised timber surround, with dedicated water tap. no problems. Yes you need to be careful with electrics but we always assume CLs don't have 16a Just need to remember not to have everything on at once. The cottage sharing this drive is not part of the site. The main field is well spaced and sheltered and near a pub (no noise). Really peaceful spot well located. need to book early for this one!
Fabulous CL
I concur with what has already been said, a wonderful CL, very peaceful, inky black sky with amazing stars I stood outside in the cold and just looked up at the night sky in amazement, great well spaced pitches, only 10amp though but adequate, if hedges were cut down a bit you would have amazing views too but regardless an excellent CL in which we will definitely return, good pub in a stones throw too, bonus! Love North Yorks!
Utopia
Great Cl next to a proper beer house. Yorkshire Blackout mmmm. Well spaced out hook up points so no overcrowding, loads of room for everyone. Free draining land that after a couple of days of heavy rain my two wheel drive pulled my too heavy van straight off with no drama. I'm sure I read here somewhere that the CL is good for star gazing, what's that about? well now I know because at night it's beautifully dark, no horrible light pollution to spoil the night view so rarely seen nowadays.
Now for the dilemma, the CL has a tall hedge which I was pitched next to, being nosy I peeked through and could see what looks like a rally field, walked round and wow, views! so here is the question, do you want seclusion from the winds but no view or take the wind on the chin and have a great view? I prefer it on the chin, so when I go next time I will ask if I can go (I'm assuming it belongs to the owner of the CL, I could be wrong!) the rally /overspill field, it has hook up points. Yorkshire, don't you just love it?
First Class c.l
Just returned from a week on this c.l. and have to say it was a first class experience .Only minus point (if you can call it that)was the hook- ups were a problem when we first arrived and only 10 amp (would have been better if they had been 16 amp) but overall a great c.l. and we shall return!
One of the best
We have stayed on this CL many times, and it is about perfect as far as we are concerned. A very clean, level field with short grass, good access, and the pitches well spaced out. Choose one on the top (nearest the road) side to get maximum sunshine hours. Pub next door is also highly recommended, with its own brewery and good hearty food. It is also dog-friendly. Lots of beautiful walking and cycling in the area, as long as you don't mind hills.
Bank Top New year 2012
Just spent 4 nights at Bank top, Rang Mr Fisher up the morning we set off to make sure it was still open due to constant rain before Christmas. He said it was a bit spongy because of the rain the night before.Driving over on the A64 we passed rvers that had burst their banks and totally flooded fields everywhere, which made us feel a bit anxious. The grass wasn,t to bad at all considering,a few puddles on the track to the site but nothing to bad. Nice and Level , easy to find, and a footpath leads off the site down hill towards the river Seven , probably about a mile.
Had a barmeal at the New inn next door, very nice and welcoming. Went back on new years eve and spent the evening, there was a compare/ singer on, bringing in the New year, was made very welcome and some great Beer, As I mentioned the track to it was a bit wet , so we wore our wellies to go in and took our shoes in a carrier and left our wellies in the porch of the pub no problem , nice area would go back.
July visit
Arrived early evening on a Thursday, after phoning due to recent weather, owner confirmed site OK. Pitched up, ground (grass) fantastic (twin axle van). Excellent pub facilities next door and fantastic golf course 15 mins drive away (2-4-1 vouchers accepted, Kirkbymoorside). Very peaceful and left to own devices all weekend. Pickering just 10 mins drive away. Recommend site to all.
