A lovely spot with great views close to Tissington and the trail

We came to this CL for the first time in July and we'll definitely be back! Mrs Maule handled our on-line booking (via email) very efficiently and we had a friendly and helpful welcome from her husband. It's a very tranquil site with wonderful views and a short bike (or slightly longer walk) ride into Tissington which is a charming place to visit and from here you can access the wonderful Tissington Trail. All the facilities are very well set up and easy to use, we don't use our TV when we're away but we heard the signal was pretty good. You can access walks/ bike rides directly from the CL.

Good visit despite the rain!

Gavin and Lynn are welcoming, yet unobtrusive hosts and Bassettwood is a valuable addition to the CL network. It's not been up and running that long and the latest improvement is the addition of 2 hard standing pitches - more enhancements on the way, I'm sure! The very pretty village of Tissington can get rather rammed with visitors, but Bassettwood, only 0.9 of a mile away, reached via a good quality tarmac roadway, through through open fields of sheep and cows, is a tranquil hideaway with great views. With the 4 electric hookups provided off one post, it's worth noting that the single non-EH pitch has the most space from potential neighbours. Having said that, for the 9 nights we were there, we shared with one other caravan for 6 and had the last 3 to ourselves - lovely!

Excellent CL site

This site is in an extremely pleasant country area yet close to nearby Tissington and the Tissington cycle trail. The trail can be reached three quarters of a mile from the site along a tarmac lane. My wife and I stayed here for three nights with our young grandsons this month (August 2019) and there was plenty of room for them to run around. The site does not have a toilet or shower block but has all other facilities which suited us just fine. The site is very clean and tidy and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We would highly recommend this site and no doubt will stay here again.

Excellent

Arrived to a warm welcome from the owners (and their donkey in adjacent field). Perfect location for Southern Peak District in a quiet and picturesque place. Sampled a cream tea in the sites’ tearoom. Superb!!! Highly recommended
