A pleasant stay

Spent two nights on a stop over between home and Devon in September. The site is well located for motorways. The entrance to the site is not well signposted and there is currently no caravan and motorhome sign and therefore we missed the turning and had to reverse around a junction up the road. The site is located immediately first right as you turn onto Charley Road. It is sloping and levelling blocks are needed. We were greeted warmly by the owner and given infomation on water and chemical disposal. There is no other information point at the site relating to places of interest. There is some distant road noise from the motorway but this wasn't too intrusive. On a weekend the main gates are shut but you receive a entry card for a £10 returnable deposit which enables you to go in and out of the site freely. We used the Leicester park and ride to visit Leicester whilst there. The site is near several pubs and the Copt Oak pub does cheap good value meals which is just down the road. An ideal place for a short stop off.

Perfect for a relaxing break

We spent 2 nights here and have no complaints at all. The grounds are perfect for dog walking with plenty of other nearby woodland walks for a longer leg stretch. The site was very well maintained and secure. Homemade biscuits were amazing!! A perfect place to relax.  One thing to note is that the entrance is close to the final crossroad so try not to overshoot it (yes we did miss it first time!!)

Well maintained CL

Easy access to a well kept pitching area. Walking is available around the site’s 30 acres of woodland. The EHU is all in one short line which makes for pitches a bit closer to each other than we would like but one can’t fault the friendly welcome. Easy access to/from the M1 is a bonus.

Great Spot

We made this CL an overnight stop on our journey north in September. It is beautifully maintained. A very slightly sloping pitch, in a huge field with a neatly mown path for walking up to the higher ground where there is a good view. Great for our Westie to stretch her legs! A lovely touch was we were greeted by the owners with gift wrapped home made biscuits. There is distant road noise from the motorway but it certainly didn't keep us awake. We would certainly come back if we are in the area again.

Great CL

Chose this CL because of its location to home. Were welcomed by the owners and shown the facilities etc, then given some delicous cookies, yummy. Great large pitches, lovely short grass, clean with nice views around the site. Not too much of a slope, I expected worse. Dog owners will love the walks available. We are already planning our return visit to this lovely CL. Many thanks to Lynn & Richard.

Weekend break

We wanted a site within an hours drive of home that was nice and quite for the kids and dog to enjoy. This was perfect. It was a really hot weekend so we only left the site for supplies. The site is lovely, spacious pitches, large area to walk/play. The kids loved the swing on the old oak tree. The owners are really great and friendly. Great communication before and on arrival. Easy to find and approach, we highly recommend it. PS the chocolate brownies are amazing!!!!

Fantastic information prior to and during visit!

We chose this site for its closeness to Loughborough where our son is at university. It is at one of the highest points of the area. The walks would have been good if we had had the time but too busy moving our boy out of his rents accommodation. What I must say is that the owners are fabulous, quick replies to e-mails, texts with pre visit info and so helpful, when my husband arrived before me. Very clean, well kept site. There was some road noise but not enough to worry about.

Lovely site with walks and views

We've visited this site twice now and will be back again and again! Very well kept and very secure with easy to navigate approach. There are very pleasant walks on site with mowed pathways and having benches and great views from the top of the hill. Also a handy site for steam railway fans being not too far from both The Great Central Railway (Loughborough-Quorn-Rothley-Birstall) and The Battlefield Line (Shackerstone-Market Bosworth-Shenton).

Nice Site

A lovely site and very well presented. The owners could not have been more welcoming. Adjacent woodland walks. Ideal for Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill as they are only a few minutes away.
