The site itself is perfectly placed for walking or cycling into Durham and surrounding areas. Given its proximity to the city it was amazingly tranquil. With the river Browney at one edge and the footpath along the river boundary and then a cycle path leading up through the farm, we were spoiled for choice. We didn't ever meet the owners but we did meet their magnificent peacocks who wander around the farmyard. Two things to be aware of : 1) peacocks can be very loud and do join in with the dawn chorus! 2) the mobile phone signal is not very reliable. Neither stopped us enjoying our stay.
