Peaceful Views over Devon

We spent five nights here in good weather after a very wet spell. It is a very well cared for CL with fabulous views to the west over the Culm Valley to Dartmoor and Exmoor in the distance, together with some lovely sunsets. There are five hard-standings together with a grassed area. As others have noted, it is very quiet and peaceful. It should be accessed via Broadhembury (the direct lane to the A373 has a sharp and blind access to the main road). The approach lane from the village is narrow in places, but there is reasonable visibility. The Blackdown Hills is an attractive AONB, which is less visited than it warrants. There is a good short circular walk a few minutes drive away in the woods on Witness Moor on top of the hill behind the site. Dogs can also be exercised in whichever neighbouring field is not being used by the cattle. A lovely CL, which we hope and expect to visit again. Paul and Maggie (plus Stella the dog)

Nice quiet spot

We had a great nights sleep here last night. Last minute booking wasn't a problem. Shower and toilets nice and clean. Even a washing up area! The site is far from any main road so very nice and quiet :)

Weekend in May 2016

A working farm with dairy cattle in adjoining field. Views across the hills and fields. Toilet and shower thirty yard walk from van. Field is slightly sloping but adequate for five camper/caravan spread over two parts. Arrive via Broadhembury, approach can be narrow but this is a very quiet area,so little traffic. Overall we enjoyed our stay as we were visiting Dunkeswell airfield. Owners very friendly and helpful with local information. We will be staying here again.

A lovely site

Just had a week here. A superb site and a lovely welcome from all the family. Gerald and Kath are usually around and very helpful. Fabulous views as far as the eye can see and stars at night are amazing. Very peaceful and so quiet you could hear a pin drop

Summer break

Lovely little site, great welcome from Gerald and Kath. Good atmosphere from the farm and surroundings. Enjoyed watching the cows being milked and the fascination of the to and fro from the fields to milking parlour.

One of the best we have visited

This is such a great place to visit and the welcome from Kath and Gerald and their two dogs Meg and Jock is excellent. We love this site and have already booked for another fortnight in August.

Great CL and stay

We have just spent a long bank holiday weekend at Beer Farm. Arrived after a prolonged period of rain but no problems because there were sufficient hard standing areas. Friendly greeting on arrival and given the choice of where to pitch. Stunning views. The facilities were excellent and kept clean. There are some excellent circular walks from the farm and directions can be found on the notice board. This is a working farm but there was no disruption and the 2 farm dogs were no bother, occasionally walking round the site to see what was happening. Addressing a previous comment, the owners walked the site at least a couple of times a day to check that there were no 'little accidents'. We would thoroughly recommend this site and look forward to visiting again. Thank you for a great weekend.

very relaxing peaceful weekend

We have just returned from a very relaxing quite weekend on Beer Farm for the first time in our motor home this year Beer Farm is a working farm with 2 very friendly dogs which love welcoming us humans. Kath is a very welcoming lady, very abilging. The site has several hard standings pitches which is ideal for all year round touring. The views are beautiful even on a dull winters day.We could actually just make out a scattering of snow on Haytor For a small charge you get use of the laundry facilities The site price was very reasonable We visited Honiton,Sidmouth,&Beer as we took our car with us, Id like to thanks Kath and hubby for a lovely weekend and hope to visit in the near future

Beer Farm Aug Bank Hol

We arrived at a reasonable time to meet some friends we have holidayed with for many years. The site was the same as it was three years ago, very peacefull , beautiful surroundings and good acess ( except the main route to site through Broadhembury was Closed with a divertion ) slightly improved by way of a ditch being filled in , which was a concern on exiting the site. The Bank Holiday went well , normal weather rain and showers , but then we were dissapointed that the owners let there pet animals roam freely on the CL site , causing little accidents in the most unwanted places . However we did go up to Dunkeswell Aerodrome and enjoyed there Carvery , whilst watching an aeril display of daredevil sky divers ETC.. Shall we return , we feel there are other places which we shall explore and may be one day be back....
