The book said from £10 a night and admittedly we did not ask but on arrival we were told that the field (that was small and sloping) was too soft for motorohomes so we would have to go on the gravel car park - in a narrow space between their motorhome and a building - facing their house - no pleasant view whatsoever. We were told £15 a night but I said I did not want electric and felt the £5 for electric was expensive. She was not happy and said we would have to go to the other end of the car park - this was better but the adjacent nursery had a smoky bonfire a few feet away and I explained that it was not suitable to be camped in smoke. She replied she couldn't do anything about it and was not interested I feel because she was not making the profit from electricity. We went to another site for half the price which was in a nice woodland setting. We will not be returning here.
No longer a poultry farm
No longer a poultry farm ! An ideal location for exploring Gateshead and Newcastle. Site is located next to a country lane which is silent at night but fairly busy during the day. Very friendly welcome and basic facilities. Adjacent to a field and woods good for walking dogs.
