The access road is parallel to the A40, which makes the site very noisy.
The grass was very long, and not well kept.
Good walking from site and good on site facilities.
All things considered a reasonable stay for the week.
But I think mostly used as a motorhome stopover.
We probably wouldn’t use again.
A great no-frills site
Not much I can add to previous reviews. Just a couple of notes on access. Firstly access is easy even for large outfits. Secondly, there is a very small cut-thru in the dual carriageway immediately opposite the farm track. Your sat-nav may instruct you to use it. Personally I wouldn't, even without a caravan in tow. Safer I think to use the roundabouts.
Great Site near Ross-on-Wye
This is a largish basic field with water taps at each end along with an elson point and waste bin at the entrance. There’s ample room for 5 or more vans but when we were here in September 2023 there was only two units on site. There’s plenty of walks and cycling direct from the site. Its a 10 minute walk over the A40 to The White Lion which sits on the river Wye and is ideal for a drink and/or meal which you can combine with a trip into or on the way back from Ross-on-Wye (follow the riverside walk into town from the pub). At £10 a night it’s good value for money and one of the few remaining sites that isn’t joining the ”rip off brition” club. The owner is a lovely lady who was really helpful.
Will definitely stay here again.
Great place
Shame there is no photo on the site CL to do it justice. Large filed with plenty of room so you can be away from others. Water tap near the bottom and near the entrance which also has the rubbish bin and waste disposal.
Stayed only one night traveling just near the field entrance. Choice of being below trees on in the open for max solar id needed. Walked the field and appears no problem going anywhere (no soft grass/ground). We drove down into the field and then swung back up onto our a raised flat area just past the water tap. Only one other camper there further down the field.
Sign asking you to go to the farm before setting up and spoke to lovely welcoming lady. Just be warned that it is a short walk uphill and if infirm you should drive there (without a caravan!)
Yes we would return.
Ideal
Just off roundabout few hundred yards well signed , basic field water and waste on left as you enter , their farm further up lane in sight from field. Working farm which was nice, friendly owners. You can hear the hum of traffic but didn’t disturb us. Some footpaths , one to a lovely church. If you go to roundabout (press button to cross) over bridge take river walk this takes you to Ross on Wye very pleasant. Again as you had crossed at roundabout you see garage and shop , little further White Lion pub very lovely riverside garden very popular, they do food although restricted menu due to Corona, but so easy to walk of an evening or daytime.

A fantastic find ...
I am not quite sure why there are no reviews for this site, as it ticks so many boxes!
Very easy access from the motorway, 5 minutes from the end of the M50.
Plenty of space and a choice of places to pitch.
Welcoming hosts, with lots of ideas for walking in the area.
A working farm with cows and tractors a plenty.
Easy access for water, waste and rubbish.
A great base for Ross on Wye and all of the surrounding area, with the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire to explore.
Goodrich Castle (English Heritage) within 10 minutes drive.
No electric - perfect for those who are going technology free!
Garage with Spar shop, within walking distance, and lovely fresh bread.
Road noise from the A40 is only noticeable occasionally.
Would highly recommend, and definitely will return.
