A previous reviewer suggested that this site is perhaps more suitable for younger people. Well, I'm 65 and am pretty sure I don't fall into this category! Nevertheless, I found this site ideal in so many ways, not least the price and the warm welcome. It is true that there is some road noise, but it's not too intrusive and depending on the wind direction is scarcely audible. The scenery is magnificent in all weathers, beautiful walks directly from the site with red kites flying overhead. If you love nature there is much more to commend this site than to condemn it. The water is not directly on the site but it is easily accessible (and fast flowing) and there is ample space between a large choice of pitches. I found the directions adequate with good signage from the main road but its worth preparing in advance so you don't miss the initial turning. This is great little site and I'm pleased that we are able to have access to such lovely places at such affordable prices.
