Easy walk into carrbridge and east drive to aviemore etc. Landmark close by. We will visit again, Grandkids had their bikes with them and soon found the excellent pump track close by as well walks through the elam woods.

Fabulous spot, super relaxing

Had a lovely 4 nights here, stayed an extra night as so relaxing! We were surprised it wasn’t fully booked tbh, a great price including hook up at 16A too! Its very well organised without feeling it and each hardstanding has grass by it with 3 full grass pitches, also with hook up. It’s a stones throw from the famous pack horse bridge, with lovely woodland a short walk away, a nice stroll round in the morning with our dogs, who loved having a dip in the river. A small shop nearby as well which we popped in to for milk and ice creams on a very warm day. Horses, goats and cattle in the fields around so always something to watch, a few oyster catchers as well. Trips out to Aviemore where the closest supermarkets are for supplies and driving some of the snow road route as far as Ballater, well worth the drive, a lovely area, driving by the ski centre seemed strange in such nice weather, hard to imagine it in use! A day walking around Loch Morlich, quite busy there but very few seen far from the car parks! Easy to book by email, and Millie who manages the site is so nice and came by to see us. We have been to other sites since on our travels and had issues with midges, but none here when we stayed.

Great site

We stopped for 2 nights on our way north and would be happy to book another stay in this pleasant site. Owner easy to deal with and facilities all in good order. Advantages: Clearly laid out, big pitches, 2/5 hard-standing. Easy walk into Carrbridge. Lots of local walks Cairngorms National Park location Disadvantages: Midgies, pretty much anywhere in this area when the wind drops in the summer evenings though! No TV reception (only a problem if there's something you planned watching though)

Super site in a great location.

As the other reviews have said, this is a great site with wonderful access to some of the best walking and cycling locations. The site is well designed. It's a real luxury to be able to reverse straight into you pitch after a long drive with no messing about with levelling etc. Similarly, the essential facilities: water, CPD, grey water and rubbish are all well maintained and easy to use. The pitches are a mixture of hard standing and grass. Again, really well maintained with very good drainage. As another reviewer noted, the photographs don't do the site justice. A few negatives....the site is in the village and therefore very convenient for eating out, Spar shop supplies etc. but the down-side of this is that there can be some noise from surrounding houses. Hedge trimming, music, kids playing etc. WiFi. Mentioned in a review two years ago that it didn't work. It still doesn't! Don't choose this site for it's Wifi without checking with the owner first. I don't think it should be on the site description until it does. The site has very good 4G on Three and O2 but obviously you pay for that. Dog fouling. Over the duration of our stay we had to remove four piles of it from our pitch. Rather embarrassing when I accused the owner of the van and dog next to me to find that they had the same problem and it is actually from the dog(s) from the house at the entrance to the site which seem to have free run of the place at times.

Repeat Visit but shame about the dog poo

A repeat visit to this CL - still a great location for exploring the Cairngorms - good cycling in the area. Easy access to Carrbridge for shop / cafe/ pub. Visit only spoiled by some loud music from a neighbouring house and dog poo on the site. Irresponsible dog owners! I cleared up 3 lots of dog poo after parking.

Great Spot

Stayed for a couple of nights in October. CL was easy to find with good access. There was plenty of space available in a great spot on the edge of the village. As another reviewer said prettier than it looks in the photos, overlooking the field which was full of highland cattle while we were there. CL is tucked in behind some houses and gardens beside the croft, but quiet and you did get a sense of being in the countryside rather than a village. Easy access to village along the river or the road, both the Cairn Hotel and Carrbridge Kitchen were good too. Easy access to Speyside Way via Boat of Garten for cycling in the area.

A lovely place to stay

This site was nicer than it appears in the picture. The sites were well-spaced out in a little green valley with highland cows ponies and hens around. Lots to do in this fantastic area. Great for bird watching. The Cairn Hotel in the village had a choice of three vegetarian mains- a welcome change from the normal pubs. Very tasty too!
