Lovely site

Had a lovely 2 nights here in our motorhome. Site is very secure, close to the A44 but road noise not really an issue. Good walks from site using footpaths/ bridleways and there is also a path along the side of the main road. We walked to both Salford and Chipping Norton during our stay. Owners friendly but not intrusive, we enjoyed the chickens wandering freely, they are very friendly too! We had a lot of rain during our stay and the ground was a little soft as we left but no problems driving off. Would definitely return :)

Autumn break

Great rural CL, well located for North Cotswold attractions. Plenty of space and great facilities. Ponies, chickens and guinee fowl running about are great entertainment. Owners are on site and are friendly and helpful. Recommended local attractions include Batsford Arboretum, Broadway tower and for fluff chuckers there is a lovely trout fishery in Salford. If you want to eat out The Blue Boar in Chipping Norton is excellent. PH taxis will pick you up and drop you off for a fiver each way.

Family friendly, loved the animals & a great location for exploring the Cotswolds.

We had a fab 2 night stay in October. The owners were very accomodating, welcoming and friendly. Our two children 1 & 6 loved the ponies, chickens & guinea fowl & talk fondly of them. Space for the children to have a run about. Clean, quiet & pleasant site. Great for access to the Cotswolds. We would all definatley like to return. Thank you Ian & Mandy 😊

Lovely site

We stayed here for a weekend break. The site is very well maintained by Ian, who made us veey welcome on arrival. Although it is just off the A44 we could hardly hear any traffic noise. There is a shed with lots of local information on site. Nice walk into Chipping Norton in one direction and a short walk the other way to the village of Salford, from which a couple of long distance footpaths and other walks can be accessed. Lots of beautiful rolling Oxfordshire countryside to see. Convenient for all Cotswolds main centres. Excellent value. We will be going again.

Great site for a quiet break.

We stayed 2 nights over the August Bank Holiday weekend, keeping off the roads till we left on the Tuesday. Ian and Mandy were very welcoming, and enthusiastic about their site and smallholding. The top end of the field was occupied by a family gathering of 3 caravans and it seemed like a dozen cars, but there was plenty of space left. The site does slope so levelling blocks required for motorhomes. It is a 5 minute walk along the footpath of the main road into Salford, and the Salford Inn. Unfortunately it closes on Sunday pm and Monday, so we were unable to sample it's wares. We could have walked into town, but it was hot, so just stayed put and relaxed! Would recomend a visit here for a relaxing and peaceful break.

Ideal for sightseeing

This is a great site for exploring Oxfordshire & the Cotswolds. We stayed on the site when visiting Blenheim Palace which is close by. The field is a good size, quiet and well kept. It is on a slope but we pitched at the top, close to the pony field, and were able to level our motorhome OK using our Fiamma chocks. Easy access to EHU and water points. Mandy made us feel welcome.....as did the ponies who came to see what we were up to! It's an easy walk to the village pub, there is a pathway alongside the road. The pub serves real ale and a reasonable choice of homemade meals.

Lovely weekend stay

We stayed here from a Friday night to a Sunday morning in June 2017 as a couple with no children and a motorhome. It was a lovely site - clean and tidy. The owners were away but their tenant helped us upon arrival. It is a nice walk into Chipping Norton. Pitches are sloped so chucks are required and facilities are limited. However this just adds to the tranquil calm of the site. For each two pitches there are water points next to the electric hook up which means you do not have to walk far. The entrance is slightly concealed but easy enough to find. The sat-nav on my phone did manage the postcode given which was helpful. Lovely site, we would stay again.

Pretty site

Just had a 2 night stay at this site. Easy to find and access is good. May be tight for some vans as the entrance to the field could be tight for some with a kerb. Access though is off the road so you are well protected there, you enter a lay-by set up which is good so if you do need to re-position yourself you are not in any danger. Lovely well maintained site with double EHU points each with water tap. No toilet/shower. No separate area for dog walking, so we walked around field on lead and when other guests went out for day we let him have a little run around without affecting anyone else so no problem there. Two lovely friendly ponies who like to come and see who you are, our dog took a particular fancy to the blonde! The chickens certainly are nosy - they were almost in our car at one point and decided they were going to eat the dogs bone too at one stage must to the puzzlement of the dog. Town centre only a mile away and could be walked if you so wished. Various shops and food outlets, quaint small town. Recommendation - take some fly repellent with you. I got bit 5 times by horse fly's resulting in one bite that has become infected and now on antibiotics. Hey it happens your in the country but if you remember to pack some spray then all the better. Little bit of road noise but not enough to be an annoyance. Would definitely return to this site, ideal for us as a two night getaway but could see people wanting to stay longer as it provides easy access to so many areas around the Cotswold area. Only negative that I could say would be could imagine if full it may feel a bit cramped and that's only because the pitches are on 2 sides of the field - 2 pitches along the far end fence where the pony paddock is and 3 along the adjacent side although not using the full length of the field because of a mobile home, waste/refuse point and an information hut. Pretty veg patch was attractive and fun watching the rabbits hop around in obviously helping themselves to their dinner. Didn't get to meet the owners, spoke on the phone and Mandy was very helpful. Met the tenant from mobile home as they were away and he was very helpful and welcoming on their behalf so thank you. All in all a great little site and as it's their first year they've got it set up nicely. We will certainly return and wish Mandy and partner much success for the future!

Great little site

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Bridgefield while visiting family in the area and felt we had to give it a review. The site is easily accessible from the A44 Chipping Norton to Moreton in Marsh road which also has a slight downside as there is some noise from the road but it wasn't enough to interrupt our stay. We were given a warm welcome from Mandy & Ian and as we were the only ones there at the time we had the choice of the site to pitch. The site is approx 1 acre and has a slight slope so levelling blocks may be required, it is surrounded on 3 sides by trees & hedges so is quite sheltered and has nice views to the other side. There are 3 electric hook up points each with 2 outlets, each point also has a water tap so all pitches are well serviced. Chipping Norton is a 5 min drive from the site and has all the necessary facilities you may need. All in all this is a great little site, very well situated for a visit to the Cotswolds and its various attractions
