Superlative CL

Probably the best, well organised and friendliest CL in the Caravan Club - open all year. Very well set out fully serviced hard standing pitches and an immaculate toilet block on the Cl enclave. There are two commercial sites on the complex which are entirely separate from the CL. One is Adult only and the other for families. Neither intrude upon the privacy of the CL. and are open only for a shorter season. The location in the Conwy Valley is an added bonus. In a word an "Idylliic" CL.

Perfect long weekend

We approached the site from Conway and found the site easy to find. Access for our 4 berth unit was straightforward as the site has a wide, straight and what look to be a recently laid tarmac road right up to the house/reception. The entire site, not just the CL area, was beautifully maintained. The owners obviously take great pride in making everything just right, not a thing out of place. Touches such as small planted areas around the base of each ornate onsite road light had flowering spring bulbs, a credit to the gardener and is just one example of the attention to details that this site has. The site is nice and peaceful as it's surrounded by open fields which look to be part of the farm. We stayed on pitch no. 2 and luckily the planted bank behind the pitch shielded us from the worst of storm Doris. Even with a weekend of rain the site never had standing water anywhere. We managed to attract plenty of the local bird wild life to our feeder, despite the weather. Facilities were modern, warm and always clean and tidy. We never queued once for anything even though the five pitches were taken most of the three nights we stayed. We managed a number of walks into Llanwrst and the well-lit site access road allows safe evening walking. We had lovely evening meals at the Eagle Hotel and Ty Asha Balti House and lunch at cafe Contessa. Shame the tea room over the bridge wasn’t open. The local Co-op and card shop came to our rescue, as there’s always something left at home. Walked to Fairy Falls at Trefriw via the foot bridge over the river Conway and had a welcome stop for hot chocolate just as the rugby kicked off on the TV at the Fairy Falls Hotel. Then a little retail therapy at the wool mill shop. We were one of the few out walking in the wind and rain that day but it was worth the effort. Had a relaxed and expensive walk around the shops in Betws-y-coed, Thank god for the 15% club discount at Cotswold outdoor shop First time for Angelsey eggs at the Bistro. Perfect stay and would highly recommend the CL site. We’ll be back.

Thank you.

Stayed recently on the immaculate CL site. Mrs Edwards was excellent and even rang to tell us she would be out when we arrived, to pitch on the site and she would catch up with us during our stay, was very helpful in accommodating my need to do and early morning car departure for my daughters farm work experience elsewhere, even offered to show my daughter around the sheep and lambing pens during our stay (really dis-appointed not to take up the offer) nothing was to much, the site was immaculate and we will be returning (providing we can get a pitch.....) Thank you.

If the CL is full then don’t hesitate to stay on the owners’ adjacent sites

Revisited after an absence of a few years. The owners Beryl and John Edwards are constantly upgrading the CL. Since our last visit the CL has been re-contoured resulting larger pitches which are level with the surrounding grass. Checkout the photos on the website. The CL is so popular John was telling me that he wants to do some work on one of the trees and is having to wait until January before the CL will be quiet enough! The CL got so popular that a dozen years ago John and Beryl built Bron Derw Touring Park. We’ve stayed there when there’s no space on the CL. This is the only commercial site I’ve been on which is of the quality of a Club site, indeed it surpasses it. Large level pitches, most with views of the surrounding hills. The Touring Park became so popular that John and Beryl then built on the other side of the CL Parc Derwen which is an adult-only site. Now that too is often fully booked. When we were there October every pitch on all 3 sites was taken! But despite them being full, at night is like a Club site – very quiet. They’re in easy walking distance of Llanrwst and only 5 minutes’ drive from Snowdonia and Gwydyr Forest with its 25 km off-road Marin bike trail and over 100 miles of footpaths. Betws y Coed and Bodnant Garden (the best garden in Britain) are only 10 minutes away. Llandudno and the North Wales coast are only another 10 minutes. The views from the site pitches are better than the CL. We much prefer CLs and avoid commercial sites but have no hesitation in recommending all 3 here.

EXCELLENT CL SITE

We have just returned home from our 11 night first trip to Wales and we were not disappointed. What a gem of a CL site, everything you could wish for from a CL site it is the best cl we have stayed at. The Edwards family are lovely people and very friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The site has easy access, fantastic sized pitches and immaculately kept. A small shower block but no washing up facilities that is why it is only £18 for pitch and 2 people, no charge for dog's our two springer's loved it. Lovely little village an easy walk from site with a bakers, fish & chips, small supermarket, bank, post office and on a Tuesday there is a small market. We had beautiful weather some day's it was to hot but we were able to take the dog's to the river that run's through the town and is in easy walking distance of site. Visit this little gem she also has two other site's BRON DERW TOURING PARK or PARC DERWEN which is exclusively for adults check them out on the website www.bronderw-wales.co.uk we were so impressed with this site that we have rebooked for our holiday next year so roll on 2017.

Lovely site, very welcoming hosts

We have just stayed for  5 nights in a motorhome.  The site has very easy access, nice size pitches, immaculately kept. The lady in reception was very helpful and friendly. 10 minute walk into the town where there is everything you need.  We had horrendous weather but still enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return.

Perfect

This was everything you could wish for from a CL plus more. It is the best CL we have ever stopped at. We will certainly return, but cannot praise the site and owners enough. A credit to them.
