Our stay
We recently visited this site, partly because of the awards it has won, and we were disappointed. The site itself is beautiful and very well maintained.The new shower block is outstanding. The outlook from the site is spectacular. However, in 35 years of caravanning our pitch was the worst we have ever stayed on. Pitch number 5 is right next to a line of hedging. We have a Bailey Pageant Moselle- your average family caravan. We were positioned right on the outer limits of the pitch and yet our awning (a full awning) could not be properly erected- the one end was literally in the trees and the poles couldn't be extended fully. The view then from the awning was just this line of trees and was very dark.
In addition to this the hardstanding seems to have been fixed with tar. Everything is covered in tar marks, our caravan seats, the awning itself even our poor German Shepherd dog!
We love the area and cannot fault the welcome we had or the cleanliness or beauty of the site but we will not be returning.
