Perfect

We chose this site for its location, within walking distance of Leyburn with a number of public rights of way close to the site for walking straight out into the countryside, and in the view of the very favourable reviews of the site. We were not disappointed. In addition to the fabulous views from the site, the site itself was very attractive, well laid out and maintained to a very high standard, both in terms of neatness and cleanliness. The free range eggs were delicious and my wife enjoyed chatting to the resident donkeys. The only slight disappointment, which was nothing to do with the owners, was the fact that one of the public rights of way leading from the site down towards the River Ure ( marked as Middleham Lane on the OS ) was closed whilst work was being undertaken as a result of damage by flash flooding. However, there were other options for walking out into the countryside from the site so the closure of that path did not affect our enjoyment of the site. The owners were very friendly and helpful, being on hand to answer any queries we had. We hope to return to next year.

A scenic spot

Our first trip of the year since lockdown and we were not disappointed. The access is straightforward. We were welcomed on arrival and told everything we needed to know. All pitches have a lovely view across the valley to Middleham where the castle can clearly be seen. If you don't want to use your car, there are plenty of walks from the site. We will definitely return.

Superb CL site

We stayed here 4 nights throughout Storm Dennis, February half term. No flooding on site, ground was well drained, even though some roads in the area were closed due to flooding. Wonderful views towards Middleham and across Wensleydale. Friendly hosts. Lovely to watch the horses, donkey and chickens. We highly recommend Brookfields Farm.

Great Site

We have just spent a lovely Christmas at Brookfields, beginning with a warm welcome from Janet, letting us know about the area. Previous reviewers have said it all about the site, it is well worth visiting. If you like good local beers/ food and a friendly landlord a visit to the Old Horn Inn 5 minutes away in Spennithorne is recommended. We will be returning in the new year.

Brookfields Farm, Nr Leyburn, N.Yorks...Hard to beat!!

This fine CL, which was previously a non-EHU site, now has full EHU, 4 well spaced Hardstanding pitches & 2 grass ones, 2 water and waste water points, the usual recycling facilities and a spotless toilet and information room. The views from the the site are superb, across the Wensleydale and the River Ure, to Middleton and the hills beyond. The site lies at the end of a short lane & beyond the farmhouse, about 1/2 ml from the A684 through the small village of Harmby. There are walks down to the river and another, close by, through the fields to Leyburn. The nearest pub is the Pheasant, just where one turns off the main road and another at the village of Spennithorne about a mile from the site. There are a couple of smallish supermarkets in Leyburn, the Co-op and the award winning R Campbells & Sons, as well as a good variety of specialist shops. The nearest major supermarkets are at Catterick Garrison about 10 miles away, where there is an Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and a Morrisons with Fuel. There are lots of places of interest close by including Middleton and Bolton Castles, Jervaulx Abbey, Theaskstons Brewery at Masham, and a bit further afield Kiplin Hall. For those that like walking and/or cycling there are lots of tracks, paths and bridleways on the moors above Leyburn. We thought it great value at £14 pn and have already booked to return.

Lovely find

We were recommend to visit this site by a fellow caravanner, what a result, the views are stunning, the plots are spacious, there is a feeling of calm ,the welcome is great and laid back, nice addition of the the clean toilet facility, one other nice touch is the fresh eggs you can purchase, a nice 30 min stroll and you're in leyburn, this is a site we will defo return to, enough said, thanks to Janet and Richard (plus the lovely black labrador) for a great stay.

Wonderful little site

What a cracking site. Richard and Janet couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming, and also very laid back. Easy access onto site, stunning views, plenty to visit nearby, and a first class loo kept spotless. What more could you want.

Great addition to the site network

Agree with all the previous good comments about this site and its lovely owners. We hope to get back there very soon but it might be difficult to get a pitch as it is going to be the best in the area. One little extra is walk up the embankment to wards the main road to view the lovely Harmby waterfall. Little gem like this site.
