Make sure you know which field you are on

We stayed here one night on our way down to Cornwall for the August Bank Holiday. The access is good to the site and close to the M5 so on the face of it make a good stopover. The welcome was good and helpful. However, as previously reviewed there is the nice CL next to the Golf Centre and then there is the Overflow field. This is a field adjacent to the farm, flat grass with electric hook ups a tap and a black box for black waste. If you like a lie-in then perhaps go elsewhere as this is a working farm area from early. It would probably suit some people who like the near farm experience. On the positives easy flat walk to the sea wall then a steep climb over to the town. Just make sure you know which field you are on when you book.

avoid overflow site

On booking a 50% deposit is requested to reserve your pitch a policy I think should exist on caravan club sites. We stayed here for the weekend. The main site was full so we were sent to an overflow site which is 100 yards down the road and is the access field to part of the farm outbuildings. The site is level grass with electric point and water tap near the entrance. I needed extension leads to get to my van although I later found the owner had these available for loan. There was no grey water disposal and no foul wast disposal on this overflow site. The owner was very helpful and told me he was going to install theses soon. The outbuildings are used by the farm periodically during the day. The chickens are a pleasant reminder of the rural location. Rubbish disposal did not exist on the overflow site. We walked from the site to the sea wall and also on to Clevedon. I am unlikely to return to this site and would suggest you check when booking if you are allocated the overflow site.

Nice well kept flat site

Warm welcome given by helpful staff. Good views across the golf course. A bit of noise from yard behind site but nothing to worry about - try and park on end nearest road ...................Very handy for exploring the area and the bonus of flat walk along the riverside to the Bristol Channel. Would recommend.

Perfect

Helpful and welcoming staff, excellent location and access, good clean facility. A lovely walk along the river and coast to Clevedon. An easy stroll to Asda and Tesco. Close to 2 National Trust properties and bus route. Good level pitch. What else can one want. We don’t understand the previous reviewer’s comment about the size of their pitch as the pitches with electric hook-up are as shown in the photos on the website. We are looking forward to returning. We stayed on 12th and 17th June 2017

a bit squashed

A bit squashed together, Caravan with awning on one side car on the other all in a line, lets hope nobody has a large awning or there wont be space. This CL is clean and tidy situated across the road from a huge caravan site, nest to a golf course. All in all not bad, would possibly stay again if in the area but would not make a special trip

Update Posted on 16/06/2017 15:01

have been informed by CL two things, first the caravan site opposite is actually a caravan storage facility, and that they are now asking car owners to park caravan, unload car and then repark car in their car park, this is a much better arrangement and will improve the CL greatly, and as a result I will definitely stay again

Perfect little gem

We stayed here for 8 nights over the bank holiday and the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble.  I cannot praise them enough.   Slight noise from the road and small industrial site nearby but didn't bother us. Fantastic site with views over the golf course.  On a clear night the sunset is fantastic.  The walk to Clevendon sea front has the best breath taking views.  Easy access to Bristol and Cheddar Gorge etc Would definitely stay here again

Well-located quiet site

We wanted to explore this part of the North Somerset coast and found this site to be perfect.  It's a 15 min walk down to the front at Clevedon or a 10 min stroll through the golf course to Poets Walk, a scenic coastal hilltop just to the south of the town.  We took the bus from Clevedon to Portishead and walked back along an under-rated section of coast path to the campsite.  The views were excellent, Clevedon is an appealing Victorian town, and the small ice-cream kiosk next to the Tiffin teashop opposite the pier was a real find. We had a great day out.  The campsite was quiet, just to our liking, the grass cut short and the pitch level.  The booking and arrival arrangements with Mark were very efficient and we have no hesitation in recommending.

Nice location

Visited the site in June 2015. An easy approach and a very warm welcome from the site owners. Very well maintained all grass area with electric hook-ups along the back fence. Quiet location, save for a very small amount of noise from vehicles using the site next door, not obtrusive. A good 18 hole public golf course runs alongside which is very handy for those with a golfing interest. Bus stop a few hundred yards from site entrance and Clevedon front is but a short walk away. Supermarket within half a mile, easy walk. Very pleasant evening walk alongside campsite to estuary with spectacular sunsets to witness. Would most defiantly return if in area again.
