Smashing CL

Our first visit and it won't be our last. The site is a large, quiet, well draining, level paddock, close to the farmhouse and sheltered on one side by a tall hedge and on another by a wood. The owners have supplied a large number of printed walks both from the farm and from further afield. The site is within walking distance of Snape, with it's pub, and the River Alde. The nearest large supermarket is Tesco at Saxmundham, and a smaller one at Aldeburgh. Places of interest within easy driving distance are Sutton Hoo, Aldeburgh, Framingham Castle, and the RSPB Reserve at Minsmere, to name but a few. Their are quiet lanes for cycling and for the off-road enthusiasts Tunstall Forest has a dedicated mountain bike route which can be accessed about 3 mls from the site.  Lots to do in the area for us and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hideaway

We spent the weekend before Christmas at this great location - no surprise that we were all alone.  Good sized field with great walks directly from the site. We'll definitely be back!

Peace and Quiet in Suffolk

Enjoyed half term and Halloween here. Lovely, peaceful site with plenty of walks direct from the CL. Can walk to Snape Maltings and beyond to Snape Warren and Iken Church with wonderful views over the River Alde. Site is level, free draining (sandy soil) with lots of space for 5 vans.

A First Class Caravan Club CL

This is an excellent first class Caravan Club CL. A large field with electric hook up's toward one end close to water and opposite chemical loo empty point. All piches no mater how you park your van are very flat and the grass field is kept well cut, short and with all the bits hovered up. Its shielded on two sides against the prevailing winds which makes it an absolute sun trap. TV can be easily found, but no WIFI at present. Hopefully this will be arranged soon (it is 2014 after all) The site is very quiet, so great for caravaner's who do not have children in tow. There is an overflow field if booking are full, which is not back for second place. Only one gripe which is ("please do something about the entrance road...potholes city - take care all") Snape is 5 minutes walk away, where you will find the nearest pub. Snape Maltings is walkable at around 30 minutes. 10 minutes drive. All coastal towns are within 8 miles distance. And dear friends ITS ADNAMS COUNTRY --- ENJOY. Book ahead !!!!

We'll be back!

We loved this site.  As previous reviewers have stated its well laid out and although there is a small non CL site as well, it was screened by a hedge and you would hardly know it was there.  Lovely walks from the site and well placed for visiting the surrounding area.  Its a longish bumpy track to get the caravan on, but once sited there is a quicker way on and off when driving solo.  The weather was kind to us, and we had very friendly 'neighbours'.  We'll be back!

Relaxing and friendly

With the site being over 1/4 mile from the road and walks available from the caravan this suited us (and the dog!). As others have said the owner has kindly written out some lovely walks and laminated them. The local food was very good and above all there was no stress!

Peaceful stay

This is a lovely farm site. The CL field is well sheltered by mature trees and is level and well drained. There is an overflow site next to it but this is screened by a large hedge and is not intrusive in any way. There are also cottages for hire but there is no sense of being overcrowded. It is easy walking to Snape and surrounding area and also reasonably flat for cycling. This is a good base to explore this part of Suffolk and there are plenty of places to visit. On the negative side the EHUs are too close together for such a large field, although the owners do have extension leads if you prefer to spread a little further down - this does depend on the units already on pitches though. I would definitely stay here again.

Ten great days

Lovely peaceful site. Plenty of room between pitches. Ideally situated, Within 1 1/2 miles of A12 for Woodbridge and Southwold. 4 Miles from Aldeburgh and 8 miles from Orford, a must to visit. Try the smokehouse near the castle!!! And of course Snape Maltings. Site owner has provided laminated walks throughout the area.

An easy and laid back CL

Spent a week at this CL in mid June, the site is level and open with plenty of room. Payment was via an envelope through the farmhouse door with our details on etc. Convienient for the coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold with plenty of walks from the site. Its a pity Saxmunham is being taken over by supermarkets but apart from that a very nice stay,it would have been nice to see the owners but I guess they were busy.

A Retreat In The Country

The this is our weekend retreat, within easy driving distance and with good walks once the caravan has been set up. Access to the site is well signed and the site itself is large enabling a good distance between each of the units on the site. Walk the sailors path into Aldeburgh enjoy fish and chips from one of the two shops. Try the early season when you can buy fresh asparagus from the farm shop just up the road. There is plenty to do, a walk to the Snape Maltings is but a short stroll but if you feel more energetic then continue into the forest at Rendlesham. In all a good base from which to explore the rural Suffolk coast. The site is well equipped and friendly I cannot rate it too highly .
