What a lovely CL

We can highly recommend this CL it is well maintained with all the facilities you need if you are not wanting a shower & toilet block but for £10.00 per night which includes EHU what can you expect. There are nice walks from the site you can take a beach walk into Dornoch or a woodland walk, if you like fishing you can fish the small lochs for a small fee, plus you can use the golf driving range which belongs to the site which is only a short walk from the site. Malcolm the owner is a real gent when you see him but in our 2 weeks of staying we did not see him a lot due to him been out on the farm somewhere. Hopefully we will make it this far north again to use this lovely site.

Great CL

Mr MacGillivary is a very kind unassuming host. The CL area is on solid grass ground which is very well cared for, as is the rest of the area. Good views across the Dornoch Firth. Extremely peaceful and relaxing area close to the attractive town of Dornoch. Nice walks around Camore wood which bounds the CL grounds.

Peaceful

I arrived in Dornoch after travelling up from Devon. My 1st visit, Mr MacGillivray met me in Dornoch and escorted me to his site. He's really friendly & made feel very welcome. I spent 8 nights there with my motorhome, the weather was perfect, lots of walks & places to visit. The History Links Museum is a must & Loch Fleet for the seals. Only about 80 miles from John O' Groats, took the passenger ferry across to the Orkney Isles, did the coach tour of the islands very interesting. Dunrobin Castle is worth a visit, so many more places to visit can't wait to return to this site. I would highly recommend this site for the peace & the scenery.

Lovely CL

CL is an easy walk from Dornoch itself along a quiet narrow road, track up through farmyard and into field was easy and field itself was well kept fairly level and with good access to water CWP and hookups. Pitches were well spaced and owner was very friendly and informative. Theres a longer walk into Dornoch through the golf range to the beach then along the shore before crossing an aerodrome and into Dornoch. This might not be a sensible route if the tide was in, high or rough. Theres plenty of room to walk your dog off site and furher walks direct from the site which we didnt have time to explore... Next time maybe? Our stay for one night at the end of September was a tranquil one. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful

We have just spent 10 days at this gem of a site. If you are into wildlife watching it is perfect as Loch Fleet is close by and each time we visited its shores we were not disappointed. You didn't even need to leave the caravan to spot the near daily visit of the osprey. The site is very peaceful and just a short walk from Dornoch. We really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect

This was my second visit, and it just gets better. Splendid views. The local area easy to get to and an abundance of wildlife. Keep this a secret, but, a splendid beach is about a 10 or 15 minute easy walk. Otherwise I can only echo what others have said.

Wonderful!

This is a lovely CL, very well kept and with views over Durnloch Firth.  It is extremely quiet with birdsong and lambs only to wake you in the morning.  It has lovely dog walks by the sea or in the woods. It is also a great place if you want to explore Durnoch town, Tain, Golspie and of course Dunrobin Castle.  Mr MacGillivary was the perfect host.  Highly recommended.

Spring Visit

This pleasant site is situated behind the farm buildings on a relatively flat lawned field with views over the Dornoch Firth. There is a hard drive up to the site from a quiet single track lane about 1 ml from Dornoch, with plenty of passing places. It is ideal for those wanting a quiet, peaceful relaxing break. There are good dog walks, through Camore Woods just a field away, and down to the shore across the lane from the farm drive. There are 4 Trout fishing lakes, and a driving range attached to the farm. Tain, 8 mls away has a Tesco, Asda & a Lidl for all your supplies, the former 2 both with fuel pumps. Close by there are many interesting places to visit eg Glen Morangie Distillary, Dunrobin Castle and the Falls of Shin. We will definitely use this site again when in the area.

Peace and quiet

We have just returned from this site after spending the last 5 nights 13/8/12 to 18/8/12 there. We had an eventful journey after our car broke down on the A9 , but after a lot of phone calls to the AA and the Land Rover garage in Inverness and our great friend Martin Bannatyne we reached this site tired and stressed out. However after a good nights sleep we awoke to a tranquil setting and after a while we were totally chilled out . Mr MacGillivary the site owner offerred us lots of help with lifts into Dornoch if required and on the one occassion the power tripped on the site he rectified the fault immediately on being told . The site itself is surrounded by sheep and cattle none of which posed a problem to us . We all tried our hand at fishing ( all exterme novices ) with rod hire available and bait and all 3 of us managed to catch a fish each, beautiful rainbow trout . Mr MacGillivary again came to the rescue and showed us how to clean the fish ready for cooking and gave us tips on how to cook trout properly. The golf range is 200 metres from the site and again is very reasonably priced . The pitch and putt is also available but we didn't try that . Instead we went and played Golspie which is a fantastic course with amazing greens and spectacular views. All in all we cannot wait to go back to Dornoch and will certainly use this site even if others are available .
