We booked this site as we needed a base whilst we went to a Christian conference event at the Lincolnshire Showground over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The flags and a CL notice suspended from the trees are a very helpful marker for the entrance as it would be very easy to miss otherwise - especially at night. The site itself is generally flat mown grass and has an excellent method of arrival and departure which means no reversing is necessary (as other reviews have also commented). There is also a rope swing flung over the branch of a tree for the kids to play on as well as watching the sheep grazing. The grey waste can go into the hedgerow whilst there is a good selection of bins for landfill and recycling options as well as a place for brown waste and a rinsing tap all in a sheltered corner. The owners are really friendly and helpful though but it is beyond their responsibility that the adjacent B1190 is so busy and noisy - maybe it could have just been because it was a bank holiday weekend? Perhaps we felt the full brunt of it being on pitch 1? But whatever the reason it wouldn’t have made for the relaxing stay it otherwise would have been as the outlook is delightful, and the site well kept. The location makes it ideal for visiting events at the Showground or Lincoln itself and other local attractions. And the industrial area of the A46 with many eateries means that you can travel less than 5 minutes from the site and have a vast array of various restaurants including Frankie & Bennies, Brewers Fayre, McDonalds etc. In summary we would definitely use this site again for it’s location but I’d be a little reluctant to use it for a longer stay as the traffic noise is too disturbing for us. If you don’t mind that then this site will probably tick most, if not all, your boxes. With no shower or toilet facilities on site £15 per night is probably about right.
