Warm welcome

What a beautiful site. We stayed here for 2 nights and had a fabulous weekend. The owner is a very polite gentleman who was very welcoming and gave us information about the local wildlife. He was extremely grateful that we had chosen this little gem to stay on ( which was certainly no hardship!). We will definitely return. Thank you for an enjoyable stay 👍 see you again 😊

What a gem of a site.

As nobody has reviewed this site I feel I should as it is a proper hide away gem that needs using before we loose it! 10 minutes from Rutland water, 5 minutes from Oakham with great chip shop and the restaurants looked nice too. Arriving from Oakham direction the roads are wide except the road to the site but very little traffic uses the road. the entrance is well sign posted from the road. Lots of footpaths and bridle ways direct from the site. The site owner uses 2 fields next to each other alternating which he uses. Both are great paddocks. I'm guessing if children wanted to play football they could play in the other field but best to ask the owner first. The only sounds you can hear from the cl is bird song, cows, sheep and occasional horses. No road noise or railway lines. The owner said he has very few rules, he is having a really quiet year with bookings, he doesn't care what time you arrive or when you leave. One motorhome left at 19:30. There isn't any hook up but life isn't all about tv's etc. Most pitches face south so perfect for sunbathing and solar panels! Water and waste points are easy to find as well. Yes the price is right! £5 a night! You can't ask for cheaper than that. Only down side is being in a natural dip there isn't much internet signal but 1bar 3G can be achieved. It was nice to have a weekend away with no phones ringing! Go on, give this site a go! For £5 a night if you don't enjoy a non hook up experience you haven't wasted much money! I fear this gem of a site could be next in line for closing if it's not used. Wish we had found this site years ago.
