very pretty site

Stayed here for 2 nights en-route to Wales. A very pretty site within the grounds of the owner's bungalow. Lovely grass pitches that appear well drained and cut, lovely flower beds. A large pond by bungalow with a huge fish! A toilet and shower at bungalow, clean but maybe a little tired. Good area for sight seeing and several pubs near by. owners very friendly and helpful about local amenities. Information hut on site. Would definitely return to this site if in the area. Well done.

Great location for Chester & Wirral

We used this site as a base for walking around the coastline Wirral (clockwise) and then from Birkenhead around the Mersey to Hale and Garston.  The sites location makes it is easy to get about as it is near the motorway and on a frequent bus route. The site itself is on good lawned field/garden - just go slow when pulling in with a larger outfit. Lots of eating places very close and Cheshire Oaks for shopping. A very good CL - recommended.

We enjoyed a short mini 3 night break in August 2013 at this site, used as a base whilst attending a family wedding at St Lukes Church, on the other side of the main road opposite. The owners Glenda and David have created a comfortable private CL site at the back of their bungalow, at a higher level which is well kept and clean and as you enter the site by a steep driveway you are welcomed by the sight of a union jack on a large flagpole. Each pitch has EHU (10 amp); we booked on pitch no. 3 . There are no hardstandings, which are not necessary as the grassed areas are well drained due to the ground sloping in two directions. Pitches are well spaced apart and there is plenty of space for playing and exercise for dogs on the extensive and enclosed grassed fielded area. There is one shower, a whb both with h&c water and a toilet in a room in the bungalow. LocalPlacesOfInterest is excellent for Chester and the Wheatsheaf pub within 200 yards has a good kiddies playground and an offer of two meals for a tenner! The village of Dunstan on the Hill is a gem, preserved thanks to its justified conservation area status.. Most competitive charge of sites in the area we could find at eleven pounds per night including EHU (showers 30 pence). Not a waterside location as listed unless you include the pond in the bungalow’s garden! Some road noise from the screened main road adjacent at a lower level and occasional aircraft noise Recommended
