Gartfairn Farm, What a view!!

This site has 5 well spaced H/S pitches, with EHU, and is accessed by hard farm lane, 3 mls down the B837 from Dryman to Balmaha. It is very quiet and has fantastic views over Loch Lomond, especially from the front 3 pitches. There are a couple of shortish walks along farm tracks from the site, ideal for taking ones dog for a walk, as well as the access road. There is a large free car park just over a mile down the road at Balmaha at the National Park Centre, where there are footpaths up onto Conic Hill and along the loch shore. These also on the route of the West Highland Way. The B827 extends another 5 mls or so and ends at Rowardennan, where there's parking and the start of the path up Ben Lomond. This road is quiet during the week, outside of the holiday periods, so good for cycling, but is extremely busy at weekends especially when the weather is fine. There's a hotel at Balmaha and also another at Dryman, where there is also a small shop, and a number of way-marked walks. At Balloch, on the A811, at the foot of the loch, there's a Co-op and the cheapest fuel can be found at Alexandria, where there's also a Aldi. This site is well worth visiting for the views alone, and a real bargain at £12 pn. We will certainly pay it another visit in the future.
