Wonderful Holiday

Stayed at Giddy Aunts for 2 weeks, we were greeted by Brian and Dawn and very soon got settled in to our new surroundings. The site is lovely and very well kept and also quiet and peaceful. The homemade scones are available every day and are very scrummy! The site is very well situated for exploring the island and travelling to the mainland. We would thoroughly recommend this site and will hopefully return ourselves one day! Many thanks Dawn and Brian.

Hidden Gem

Have just stayed for a week here and as others state great welcome, manicured pitch and just three units so very quiet. A word to those planning to go though we mis read the CC arrival instructions and went left at the first Sea Zoo sign just before Brynsiencyn. You can get to the site this way but if you go through the village and turn at the sign around a couple of miles past it, the single track road is direct and wider to easier pass things. Our route had thick hedging either side and in a downpour was not ideal to meet another unit head on! Larger motorhomes may struggle with both the route and gateway in. Your map also shows another left turn before the sea zoo sign....my advice, don't even try!! I cycled that lane and the giant farm machinery I encountered was a squeeze for me and the bike! Otherwise the stroll to the foreshore was ok with views across to the Castle at Caernarfon. Biking to Newborough is main road unless you go through the lanes around Dwyran to miss it but some steep bits. Comes out at Maltraeth. You can also go up through to Llangefni on an off road path. Most supermarkets seem to be here also. Scorching weather helped a great weeks break!

What a great little site

This is a great little site in a nice part of the Island. The site itself is simple and well laid out with plenty of space. Each pitch has its own EHU and water supply as well as a picnic bench for those sunnier days. It is well protected from the wind by trees while still being sunny enough to enjoy the warmth. A short walk down to the Menai. I shouldn’t forget to mention that you can buy homemade scones with the trimmings to take back to your motorhome, which are delicious. A great little spot for a break.

Bank Holiday Weekend

Absolutely loved this CL site. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The site itself is immaculately kept but quite small and slightly awkwardly laid out. We didn't have a problem but if the people on the pitch next to us hadn't have left first, we may have struggled to get out of the gate with the caravan. The first 2 nights, there was a campervan on the 3rd pitch. Had we been placed on their pitch and they had been given ours, it wouldn't have been so awkward to exit, as 2 of the 3 pitches are almost opposite the gate but the other pitch (ours) was to the side at an awkward angle. However, it didn't pose a problem, as we were the last ones to leave, so had plenty of room to reverse into one of the other vacant pitches. It wouldn't put us off going again, but we might request not to be on the same pitch. Again it wouldn't be an issue if we had a motor mover, but we didn't (obviously not the owners fault). It was a bank holiday weekend and there was a bit of noise from neighbouring properties in the evenings but very peaceful during the night. Overall we would go there again and definitely recommend it to friends and family and the scones were amazing!

A superb post lockdown break

Our first outing post lockdown and wanting somewhere quiet as I am still self isolating following major surgery we chose Giddyaunts. So glad we did. A superbly appointed CL run by a lovely couple. A big bonus is having a tap on each pitch. Planting round the site provides shelter from potential strong winds but the site itself is nice and open for the sun. Neatly cut grass with a picnic table for each pitch. Very tidy bin area with recycling. Not always the case with CL. Great access to the Menai straits for a pleasant stroll and Newborough beach a few minutes by car. Cycling through Newborough forest and across Maltraeth Marshes is traffic free, quiet and flat. Only had three nights but already planning our next visit. And I can confirm the scones are excellent!

Small and perfectly formed!

What a delight. We’ve been coming to Anglesey for years and Giddyaunts has now become our go to CL there! Brian and Dawn were so welcoming, the site is well positioned for touring the area and local walks along the nearby sea shore wonderful. The convenience of fully serviced pitches great! The scones are to die for! Diolch yn fawr. Bob and Wendi from Scotland

So pleased we visited this lovely CL

We have just returned from a week at this delightful CL. Peaceful and beautifully kept it is a credit to the owners. Dawn & Brian were so welcoming and made us feel this was the place for us. A variety of things to see and do in the area, something to entertain all ages. The fully serviced pitches, a site accommodating 3 caravans/motorhomes all hard standing, recycling - I can’t think of anything it lacks. Brian’s scones are an absolute bonus! What a great idea to continue with take away scones cream and jam after retiring from their tea room business. Our first delve into the cool box at the gate was a delight. This CL deserves to go from strength to strength. We had a lovely stay. Thank you so much. Jean & Bernard from Shropshire

Thumbs Up

We're new to motorhoming and this was our second adventure. First one was to a site with all facilities. This one made us use the services of our motorhome...we just relied on Giddyaunt's EHU, water, grey water provision and toilet. The beauty of this CL is that it only has three pitches and is a five minute walk from a pebbly beach on the Menai Straits suitable for dog walking. This beach links up with the Anglesey Coastal path. A drive away is Newborough with its stunning landscape, views and forest... We couldn't resist treating ourselves to a box of scones with cream and jam available at the site gate...the legend of Giddyaunts' tearoom lives on after Dawn and Brian retired from running it last year.. We have two Boxers and using the dog walking area for their needs couldn't have been easier.... Thumbs up all round..

Friendly and peaceful

We spent three nights at Giddyaunts last week. When we arrived we received a very friendly welcome from Dawn and Brian. There are only three pitches, all with plenty of space. If you are looking for a quiet relaxed site this is for you. We chose this site as we wanted to visit Newborough Warren and Forest which is only five minutes drive away, We had a really pleasant stay and will be back.
