A gem of a CL

Although we have caravanned for many years this was our first ever stay on a CL and we could not have picked a better one. From the moment we phoned to book our 6 night stay everything felt 'right' - a friendly chat with Graham while I booked and a warm greeting on arrival. Little things that so often make all the difference. A spacious caravan area on level grass pitch with the grass kept short and room for dogs to have a stretch too. 16 amp EHU and water on each pitch made for a very convenient stay. An ideal position for canal walks towards Welshpool and Berriew made for a really relaxing break. Site is directly off A 483 so site was easy to find and access. Yes there is some traffice noise but easy to ignore while sitting out enjoying scenery. Although site not listed in current Club directory I am sure will egg very busy once it is. Certainly a site we would hope to use again when in area. Gill and Mike, North Wales

Lovely weekend

Lovely weekend on this site. Easy access directly off the main road through the farm gates & onto the well tended site. Met by the friendly owner Graham to be shown to the pitch.Very picturesque with wonderful views to the hills around this area.Well spaced pitches with ehu & water to each pitch. Had a nice lunch at the pub across the road & a walk along the canal at the back of the pub. Great base for exploring this area . All in a very relaxing weekend & just 30 mins from home. Thanks Graham

Great CL site!

Glandir CL site has excellent facilities with electric hook-up and a drinking water tap for each unit making everything so easy. The site is situated in beautiful surroundings with lovely views. The canal is just across the road and the walks and cycle rides along the well maintained towpaths gave us splendid scenery and plenty of wildlife to watch. The Horseshoes Pub is just opposite the site and is a good place for meals. Graham and Liz made us very welcome and we had a lovely few days. We will definitely be returning for another stay.

Glandir, Welshpool.....A grand new site.

Only recently opened, this CL is well laid out with plenty of room between it's pitches. They are all on grass in a large paddock, but are nice and level and each has a tap, EHU and a light. The pitches have views to the East and North and are sheltered behind by a high hedge. Access is directly off the A483 about 4 mls south of Welshpool, but the site is far enough back from the road, beyond the farm buildings, for traffic noise not to be a particular nuisance. As others have said it's only a short walk, past the pub, to the Montgomery Canal tow path, ideal for walking one's dogs, or for longer walks in either direction. For those that like a stiffer walk Rodney's Pillar on Breidden Hills is not far away, ans can be seen from the site. Both Montgomery and Powis Castles are close by, and the latter's gardens are a joy to behold. There is an Aldi, a Morrisons, a Sainsbury's and a Tesco in Welshpool, the latter with a fuel station. Our only minor complaint was that grass cutting were left on the field and so were walked into the van when wet. We would certainly use this site again when visiting this area.

Great site

Lovely site Graham was so helpful and we both enjoyed our chats. Really peaceful, we were the only van there. Just over the road from the Montgomery Canal. Saw so much wildlife on canal. Try the cakes in tearoom at Berriew well worth visiting. Pub with food just over the road from site. Great site will definitely go back.

Great stay

We were the only caravan on site for the 4 days we were there and am sure Graham and family will have more people staying when they find out how lovely this site is. Nicely manicured grounds. Plenty of wildlife to see so binoculars are a must. Newly installed electric hook ups and each plot has a light. Lots to do and see in Powys. We will be back again

Lovely site

Beautiful site laid out like a very large garden with trees, plants and picnic benches, each pitch has its own electric, water and a light, Flat ground with lovely views of the countryside. Very easy to access from road, wide, safe entrance, We will definitely stay again when in the area. There is a pub opposite and at rear is tow path along canal, we walked into Welshpool; we returned by taxi, very reasonable, there is also a bus service.

You will get a warm welcome here at this picturesque site

Easy access of the road and what a lovely welcome by Graham and the 2 dogs. Very spacious pmitches, electric and water available at each pitch. Graham has thoughtfully put a light at each point too so easy to use whatever time of day or night. CDU is very easy to access; rubbish / recycling there too. There are several picnic benches for the guests to use. The pitches are very level and surrounded by lovely views of fields and hills. There is a pub just across the road which serves nice real ales and good food. If you fancy a walk then the town of Berriew is about 30 minutes away by a gentle and tranquil stroll along the canal. There you will find another 2 drinking establishments, local shop and lovely tearoom. If you are lucky you may catch the Museum of Sculpture open. We really enjoyed our visit to Powis Castle just a few minutes drive down the road (parking available for motorhomes). We will return, if not only to play a bit more with the 2 dogs and pet the cattle again.
