Wonderful CL, ticked every box

What a beautiful well maintained site, a lot of love, attention to detail and hard work has gone into this peaceful CL. It has a well presented information hut, bins all clearly labelled with a good sized chem disposal. Electric hook up and a water point between each pitch. The pitches have plenty of space for a caravan, awning and car. There is an adjoining field with paths mowed around it to stretch your legs or walk your pooch. I like the fact that not all of the field has been mowed, giving it back to nature but letting us enjoy it as well. Good walks from site, part on the road but they are wide enough to walk safely and not much traffic. Lovely owners that are happy to help you with anything

Great first visit

We stayed on this amazing site for 6 nights. The owners Vic and Kate are really great, friendly and exceptionally helpful. This flat and level site itself is extremely well maintained, with many special touches - cattle troughs containing colourful plants, solar lighting for each pitch, an information shed with OS maps and details of nearby walks and activities, places to eat - and a gift of freshly laid eggs brought over to us by Kate. It is so very peaceful and relaxing. We really didn't want to leave - and will certainly be back another time. Thanks Vic and Kate for all your hard work in running such a high quality site.

A wonderful new CL

Stopped at a new CL called Golden Valley House about two miles from Thornbury on my way home from Newquay Just of the motorway north of Bristol so a nice location for a few days or as overnight stay for a overnight break. Only open in July 2021 and ran by Vic who himself is a motorhome owner. Set in a beautiful setting no toilet block but all services at £20 a night. I think there is a bus service stop about a mile away. Highly recommend giving it a try A wonderful host who himself is a motorhome owner Terry

Idyllic CL

Stayed here for 4 days in April 2022, site level and access on country roads very easy. It was lambing time so it was lovely to have sheep and lambs gambolling in the next field. Hosts are great and offer advice on where to go, where to walk and places to eat. Site has only just opened and offers facilities equal to a club site, the toilet emptying area is just great. There are 3 taps so you can connect directly to the mains if 3 vans or less are there A small shed offers fresh eggs from their chickens and a selection of information leaflets A dog walking area sits next to the site and solar lights give a lovely feel to the site in the evening. Local pub is just over a mile away and the food is delicious, service great and very reasonably priced. We had lamb curry - 😋 Cannot reccomend highly enough. The site is close to Thornbury and the M5 so we'll being using this as a stopover for our Cornwall holiday.

Beautiful, tranquil site, what a gem

Had the pleasure of a two night stay at this new CL site. Lovely warm welcome by Vic who gave us our choice of very spacious pitches, each one was beautifully maintained and flat. Great dog walking area on site along with more local off road walks than my old boy could ever manage! There is a little shed with all the local maps laminated and ready for use along with the menu of the local pub. Vic popped over on Sunday morning with fresh runner beans from his garden, what more could you wish for to go with your roast chicken! Fabulous site, feel we will be regular visitors to Golden Valley in 2022.

Peaceful and very well maintained

Arrived on Friday lunch time to an immaculate well maintained flat site - roads and access made it easy motoring. 1st thing we noticed on the way through the gates - which has a coded padlock, [code provided on booking] was a section of wild flowers, troughs of sunflowers, foxgloves, cosmos etc and herbs and a few solar lights dotted in the adjoining field a very nice touch. All the usual facilities, recycling and toilet waste discreetly enclosed by wooden panelling. The owner had made a lovely shed with information inside - and all the fencing etc Site itself very quiet and peaceful, tv reception was good. A few miles away is Thornbury, which we visited on the Saturday - charming market town with a lovely farmers market in the High Street. We were lucky to see two stunning sunsets - There is also a barn conversion as a holiday let, ideal if you want to meet up with friends. Watched geese and ducks flying over. The owner was very informative about the area and told us we were their 5th visitor. We asked if he knew of anyone around selling local produce as we were after marrows - he produced two for us on the Sat morning, one of which we had for tea - can't get fresher than that! Certainly will return to explore more.

Shh keep a secret!

Brand new CL and wow what a little gem, spacious pitches and lovely dog walk on site. Thornbury looks a vibrant place with plenty to spend a morning wandering and possibly a coffee or two. Only spent 1 night on the CL on a stop off en route to home. We will be back, Vic and Kate were very friendly and I wish them all the best with the CL.

Wonderful New CL

We were very fortunate to be the first visitors to the Golden Valley House CL in its first week of opening. It will not be too long before word gets around and this site becomes very popular. The booking was straightforward as was the arrival. Vic and Kate have put a lot of work into creating this site and the addition of flower beds and herb garden were a nice feature. The information hut had all the key details you would need on a stay including maps for a couple of local walks. Vic and Kate are exceptionally friendly hosts and have a great local knowledge of the area. For much of the week we walked from the site exploring the local countryside and sections of the Severn Way. A short drive away is the stunning Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and a visit the nearby historic town of Berkeley is a recommended. The walks from our stay can be found on our Two Dogs and an Awning blog https://twodogsandanawning.co.uk/site/golden-valley-house-cl/
