Lovely Site

A lovely well presented CL. The facilities are spotless. Fully serviced hardstandings. The site is very well maintained with lovely on site walks. In a beautiful part of the Wolds. Highly recommended, will certainly go back there again.

Peaceful and quiet

We’ve stayed here several times, the site is well set out and tidy - an all service pitch is a nice bonus. The owners are friendly but not intrusive. The walking is extensive from site and it’s quiet- which ticks all the boxes for us and our dogs.

A beautiful CL.

This is a lovely site which has been created and cared for by the owners Tim and Di to very high standards. The pitches are all on hard standings with water and grey waste to each pitch. Black waste is done next to the information hut into a very clean and well ordered disposal point. The grounds to which you have access are beautifully kept and there is access from the site onto public footpaths. So why only a 4* rating. Two points to bear in mind. 1) This will only really apply to dog owners whose dogs need more than lead walking. Although there are two paddocks of good size on the owners land dogs are not allowed off lead on these and have to be walked around the perimeter. Fair enough, but it means for dogs to stretch their legs they need to be walked well off site onto public footpaths which are limited in the vicinity. 2) The hard standing seems to be made of cinder which, especially when damp, is transported into your van every time you or your pets enter. We were in a motorhome and hadn't used our awning or ground sheet as we were only staying for three nights which I appreciate didn't help but it is something to bear in mind.

Still one of the best

We first stayed here about 8 years ago , after which we nominated it for CL of the Year. It is still a great place to stay if you want peace and tranquillity on a site with fully serviced pitches which is immaculately maintained. There are great views across the Lincolnshire Wolds from each pitch and a large grassed area in front of the pitches available for dog walking but on leads. However, on the edge of the site, there is access to a number of cross country public footpaths for dog walking, as well as the nearby country lanes which have very little vehicular traffic on them. The site is a bit remote from shops - nearest in Horncastle about 15 minutes drive - and I did not like the fact that there is a minimum of three nights’ stay. However, overall a great place which I would strongly recommend.

Fantastic

Just had a 15 night stay at Grange Farm and we didn’t want to leave! It was our third visit and will be booking our next visit very soon. The owners are very welcoming and feel like friends once you meet them. A nice touch is your name on a board at the gate welcoming you . The site is kept in immaculate condition and I’m afraid it spoils you for other sites. I can’t see any other coming up to this standard!!! Well done Tim and Di the site is a credit to you ! I can’t understand why this site isn’t voted the best site in England!!

What a gem: excellent position; very quiet; lovely owners

We have just stayed here for 12 nights. What a fabulous find! Lovely and quiet, easy access, views, spotlessly clean facilities and everything very well maintained. What's not to like about water and waste at each pitch, and they are all hard surface. Grass cut regularly and the cuttings collected (why can't all CL owners do this?). An information hut with lots of information about walks in the area, some accessible from the site as a public footpath runs through their land. Di and Tim were very friendly and helpful. Cycling is so easy in the Wolds as there is so little traffic on the lanes. We rode to Horncastle via Fullerton and then took the Spa Trail (an old railway track) to Woodhall Spa, a lovely small town. The downside of leaving a good review? everyone else then knows about the good sites, so don't all flock there at once! We will be back sometime.

Fantastic

Our first CL - hopefully they are all as good as this! Very peaceful, great scenery, within easy reach of lovely beaches, good walks from the site, and friendly, helpful owners.

Brilliant

10th to 14th August. We left the baking lowland heat behind us and kept comfortable in the sunny, but breezy Lincolnshire Wolds. The night were cool with the roof lights open and fly screens across... even needed a blanket... which was comparative bliss. Daytime blinds against the sun, shaded windows against the sun and the fan on... cool and comfortable. The site is truly lovely:- spacious, well kept and with shady trees to sit under and admire the lovely views over the undulating countryside. My husband enjoyed the clean fresh air on the attractive country walks from the site. From Grimsby round to Skegness, the coast is easily accessible and Lincoln is an attractive bustling city with easy parking. Nearby Horncastle is pleasant with many antique shops... one will feature on the Antiques Road Trip in September! Appreciated the stay even more when we returned to the breathless heat of home...
