Great from start to finish, extremely helpful owner, lovely site, well kempt and useful information room.
From our first contact to book, to leaving at the end of the stay, the owner was fantastic. His communication via email was prompt and went beyond what was needed. He explained the best route in to the site to avoid small lanes. He even phoned to make sure everything was ok before we went. He was away for the first couple of days of our stay but let us know about it and where everything was. As soon as he was back in the country, he came to make sure everything was ok. Very easy access to the site, a good driveway up to a very sizable level field. It was well mown and clear of cuttings. During our stay we mentioned we were just going out and he said he would get the mower out then as he didn't like to do it when people were in as he didn't want to create a noise during their stay. How considerate is that? He visited the site daily although he didn't live on site. The facilities were well positioned and clean and thought had gone into it. How ingenious to use an unused silo as an information room! There are actually 7 pitches laid out as he likes to rotate the pitch usage so he can rest two after they have been used to maintain the quality of the grass. The information room contained relevant local information and an OS map to borrow. There was also a fridge containing milk and eggs and a freezer with a selection of ice creams in along with an honesty box for payment. The freezer was also available for visitors to leave their own frozen foods in if they needed extra space. The site is ideally located for a number of local beaches, some within walking distance. Shon, told us of his plans for the future and it sounds exciting, with plans for toilets and showers. Definitely a place to watch. If we are in the area again, this will be our first choice of site. Excellent base for visiting other attractions and a Morrison's supermarket not to far away. It was interesting hearing all the birds and hearing the owls calling to each other at night, then to watch a deer in the field by the side of the site. Thanks for such a pleasant stay, Shon!
