noisy

we found the site to be attractive with the canal walks and convieniant pub, however the noise from the trains , planes and the roads was dire, the grass had been cut and the wet cuttings get everywhere and are unpleasant. a good site for dogs as there is plenty of room for exercise, the cost is expensive although if every day was sunday with the reduced noise would be worth it..we will not be coming here again...

Tidy but busy

A great site, very tidy and well looked after. Nevertheless, signs to keep dogs on leads and provision of bins would be helpful. We have two dogs and we always clean up after them and keep them on leads. However there were a few running around and leaving things behind them. We were a little disappointed that we couldn't walk along the towpath, as the only means of access was over the lock gates. This was OK for us, but not possible for our dogs. It is worth noting that this site is just a CL section to a public site, and therefore expect more people, children and road noise than most CL's. Having said that, this is probably one of the tidiest sites we have been to, and having our own water supply and levelled ground was a boon. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Lovely site

Beautiful CL with bags of space, well looked after, the bonus of  excellent shower and toilet facilities, and a friendly manager. The adjacent pub is a bit on the pricey side but welcoming. Handy for Bletchley Park, but without a sat nav not easy to find. Neither was Stockgrove Country Park. Although known by locals as that, look for it as Rushmere country park. Well worth a visit, great for kids and dogs.  Would go back again, although it has a downside. There is a main North South  railway line nearby and it is very busy. Having said that we soon got used to it.

Very nice BUT

The site is very nice, facilities first class, but do not go to the pub next door unless you want ripping off.

Canalvanning !

Spacious service pitches with excellent en-suite shower facilities, several BBQs and a lovely Fire pit enclosure, vegetable prep areas and easy access to pub, canal and tow cycle path which goes all the way to Bletchley and the landscaped lakes and ouzel valley trail in MK. Slight downside is the train noise. I reccommend buying Nick Cotton's Traffic Free cycle paths for family friendly bike rides throughout the uk

Great little site

CL was full but some space on adjoining field - same very good facilities.  Great bathrooms but did have problems getting hot water in the morning.  Access to the canal for walks and the pub brilliant.  We visited Bletchley Park from here easily.

Dogs

In the main, we had a nice stay at the Grove Lock Marina site, which is attractive and well laid out, with great views of the narrow boats for the CL part of the site.  BUT a word of caution about dogs, or more particularly, dog owners and what seems to be the site's relaxed attitude to these.  There are no signs up about dogs remaining on leashes, or dog mess bins.  Consequently, we had to move dog mess left quite near our caravan, left by a dog and its owner, one of the narrow boaters, who just wasn't watching the dog at all while it ran free about the caravan site.  There were children playing nearby and by the time we had identified who the two owners were, they were too far away to call.  So disgusting as this was for us, we felt we needed to remove the mess, for the sake of other holiday makers.  Obviously, people with boats bring dogs, and exercise those dogs, who need to meet calls of nature but a few signs and bins around seems to us to be a necessity to make life more pleasant for ALL holidày makers.  This spoilt our break, and as the caretaker was busy and his partner eating her breakfast when we took the key back, we didn't get chance to raise it.  But it's a no brainer really, as they don't have signs and bins they clearly don't care about this aspect and that's a real shame because it means we, for one, won't return.

Fortnight Visiting Family and Friends

Booked site last minute and was put into the adjoining field. This wasn't a problem at most only seven caravans in this area. Site kept immaculate toilet/shower block spotless. Yes there was noise from the railway line and surrounding roads but as we had lived in village close by until 10 years ago it really didn't bother us at all. We were made most welcome on arrival. We took all three dogs and they loved it. Ideal area for walking with Rushmere, Tiddenfoot, Ashridge and Woburn woods all within short driving distance. Would have quite happily stayed longer but change of weather and work commitments meant we had to sadly leave. Would definitely return to this site, the CL pitches were well spaced out and full whilst we were there so would probably have to book well in advance to get one of those. As I mentioned adjoining field was spacious but it was October so I cannot comment on height of season. Thought the barbeque/campfire lodge a great idea. Unfortunately the pub next door do not allow dogs so as we were unable to sit outside due to the weather we went a couple miles to The Globe great food and dogs welcome in cosy bar area. A site well worth a visit in my opinion.

Great Site for showers

We all really liked this site, a bit pricey but the weekly discount was worth taking advantage of. You may need to book in advance, but they also have an adjacent field as an overflow which has some EHU points. Great scenery and the shower facilities are the best i have seen so far. They are more like wet rooms with all the facilities in several suites (yes, they are that big). Worth going for the wet rooms. Great barbeque/campfire lodge. Only disadvantage (peace and quiet) was the railway line. I like trains, but they are not for everybody.
