Nice...once you get there!

A very scenic site offering great views of the local area. As first time visitors to the area, we had not appreciated how remote Bellingham really is. The site could do with a tidy up. Lots of weeds and rather muddy in places. Mostly level and plenty of space. It is rather exposed in strong winds - with this in mind, we decided to not put the awning up. The entrance to the farm is very uneven and gets quite slippery in the wet. Watch out for the lovely farm dogs - they are very friendly, but do leave deposits around the site. Bellingham is quaint. The Cheviot is a good pub. Excellent butcher in the market place and a small Co-op store. Riverside walks are lovely as is the 2 mile walk up to the waterfall. Anything else is a good drive away! We certainly did not like the A68 north of Corbridge. Not a nice road for towing with many blind summits. All in all, a good site for peace and quiet especially if you want to stay local. £12 per night as of Aug ‘20.

Magnificent views

This is a lovely site, perfect views, new lambs on the farm when we visited in May. Bellingham is small and picturesque, we had a lovely lunch at the cafe in the village after a walk down the riverside. Would definitely visit again to explore the area.

Canny Little Stay

We stayed here at the beginning of the month so we could go to Kielder Observatory. Unfortunately the weather wasnt on our side so we couldn't see any stars. Haining Head Farm is a lovely WORKING farm. Farmers were busy lambing and working hard on the farm all the time. The views are lovely. The lambs were very cute and would be our alarm call on a morning which was lovely to here. This site is perfect location to get to Kielder waterside which was beautiful, Hexham and Bellingham itself is lovely. When we were getting ready to go I got my car stuck on the grass which was very wet off all the snow they had and got stuck. The owners were very helpful and towed us out, so thanks very much for that. I would definitely return again.

Stunning views for 2 night motorhome stop

Scruffy entrance, but this is a working farm. Didn't see owner until we found him to pay on leaving, not a problem to us. Electric hook up good and lit at night. Water on each bollard (share between 2) Elsa point basic but serviceable. Grass cut but not mown as a lawn. Hard standing would be better if rolled to bed it down. It was level. Good to visit Keilder, border towns and Hadrians Wall It was fine for us, fair price for a little CS. We would use again.

Location location...

Finding the Kielder site closed for renovations, Stephanie and I stayed here for one night on our return from Scotland. The CL is in a superb location, with a 360 degree panorama, resulting in some of our best sunset photos. I read some of the previous reviews with dismay. What do you want from a CL?...a reasonably level pitch, preferably with some hard standing, an accessible water point, chem disposal and helpfully electric hook ups. If, in addition, you have some of the best views in England, you should be happy. We were very happy, and most certainly would return.

Needs some TLC

We stayed here for one night on our way to Scotland. As previous reviewers have said the entrance to the site is really scruffy, and the site itself could do with a good tidy up. We had to go up to the house to find someone to pay -owner was apparently away on holiday. The views are excellent. It was useful for a short stop.

lovely scenery and Bellingham nearby

Easy access from main road to Bellingham.  Rough field but stones on parking bays, albeit overgrown. Adequate welcome. Chemical toilet needs upgrading (hole in ground), no rubbish point.   30 minute walk (or cycle) to Bellingham - lovely market town.  Note - uphill on return.   Walk in town to waterfall and riverside.  Two pubs - one in square best but no food (can get from take away cafe next door).  Bus service available from Bellingham (didn't use).  Recommend drive to Kielder Water (good motorhome parking £4 per day) - lovely walks, mountain bike trail.

nice site , but.......

This is a really nicely located site , very handy for Kielder Water and Hadrians Wall plus, some great walks locally.  The owner and his family were friendly and were happy to explain the workings of the farm. The views south are stunning ,as were the sunsets. As stated in the first review , the entrance to the site is a tip. I know it is a working farm and folks will appreciate that, but it is also a Club site and I feel that a basic standard should be imposed. The grass needed a cut, the bins needed emptying and a few hours cleaning up the entrance would work wonders.

Cracking location, but...

A site with lovely views, and with the village of Bellingham only 15 minutes walk away, and the Keidler Forest only 30 mins drive away, a great site. Its a great base for walking or getting into the car o explore this lovely area. As others have said, the local road runs past the site, but we didn't find it to be a problem with noise, as on an evening and during the night the road is almost unused. What lets this site down is that it seems that it isn't kept up to. The entry from the road is hard to spot as the Club sign is broken and hard to see. The farm entrance looks like a scrap yard, and is little more than a rutted mud track. Having to drive past bags of rubbish and rusty plant doesn't instil high hopes. The site itself suffered from a lack of bins which seemed to be left to overflow. Don't get put off by my comments, as I have said earlier, the views are great, and the location is great. Perhaps a bit more attention from the owners and then his really would be a 5 star site.

Bellingham Bliss

We arrived for the start of our 2 week holiday and were immediately made welcome by Alan and his wife Sarah. Our pitch overlooked the whole valley and the hills beyond, a spectacular 360 degree view. In July, there was very little traffic, loads to do within a short drive and the village of Bellingham is perfection in miniature, everything you could want, including a second-hand book shop,a fabulous pub with fantastic food, the Cheviot Hotel, a great hardware shop and the locals made us so welcome. There is also a lovely picnic area and riverside walk. We will be back! Tony & Karen Henderson.
