Wonderful - we'll be back...

Couldn't fault it really. Wonderful picture-window views, welcoming owner and good clean facilities. Not worried about the £1 charge for the shower as we use the one in the caravan! Appleby has some nice local food shops and several pubs. Good walking in the area.

Peaceful quiet C.L.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner who showed us where all facilities were. The access is easy thanks to new chipping roadway but in wet weather the slope up to the top three pitches will need care to avoid damaging the grass.Views are lovely,T.V.reception good, grass well mown and clippings removed!!!The price has jumped from £5-00 to £12-00 with hook ups and when we arrived the showers were posted at 50p but jumped overnight to £1! The shower and w.c. is located in a timber shed and it may not be warm enough out of the summer for all but the most hardy to shower. Our one problem with the site was the dog evidence in places. We assume this was from local dogs as we saw one roaming around several times. The last thing you need is to be watching your step everywhere particularly in the dark!! All in all a lovely site if the influence of mans best friend?? can be controlled.

Away from it all..............

Pleasant out of the way site but with easy access as only final three-quarters of a mile on a narrow road which is a cul-de-sac so sees limited local traffic only. Aspect of site is to south-west so catches afternoon sun. May also be exposed to the prevailing wind and as you can see for miles it might get a bit breezy. Facilities very good including a shower 50p a throw. Only 2 of the pitches occupied when we were there but I would say one of the pitches would be very tight for all but the smallest of units. Site has recently been upgraded with electricity now available. Also a roadway of limestone chippings should ensure site is accessible in all weathers. Apparently was previously closed in 2012 because of flooding / boggy ground. We are intending to return before too long.
