Lovely peaceful site.

Me and my wife and 3 dogs stayed here for a week the weather was lovely, and we were made most welcome by the owner Martin. Would defiantly recommend this site.

Great little site, easy access to local walks and bus routes to the coast.

Great little CL, made very welcome by Martin, his wife and the dog (brilliant) Site entrance is set back from the road and locked for your security. A few minutes from the canal with pubs within easy reach in both directions and a bus stop even closer for a quick 30 min trip to the town. The site is on the Southport road, so you can expect a little road noise, but believe me it wasn't an issue day or night due to the most pitches being well away from the road. Martin made us really welcome and keeps the site in great order.......we will be back. Martin, many thanks for a great weekend (4 nights) Pete and Carole

Great Little Site, will come again

I arrived at this site on a Friday afternoon- It is easy to miss the entrance so keep eyes peeled for the entrance, however had no problem turning right into the entrance to the site. The entrance was long enough to get my unit and car on without overhanging the road. The gate is padlocked at all times which is good for safety, however Martin had already provided me with the combination code before I arrived. The Pitches are very large with plenty of room for Car, Van and Awning. The fresh water supply was near to hand and there were bins for recycling. You can tell that Martin is a caravaner as the grey water, and Toilet emptying point is at a perfect height. making it easy for me to use even with my bad back. Everything was very well kept clean and tidy.. Connection of the electric supply was easy however it is only a 10 amp load so care needs to be taken not to trip the circuit breaker, but it is easy to self reset so no problem. A very short walk along a pavement takes you to the nearby canal with lovely flat bridlepath for a gentle walk. Other people have mentioned road nose however I did not notice this and found it a nice and peaceful site. Southport is only a short bus ride or car drive away There is a bus stop a very short distance from the site entrance towards the canal that takes you into Southport. A lovely site with very friendly owners will be back again

Lovely 4 night stay

I arrived at this site on a Wednesday afternoon- the traffic on the A570 was light, so I had no problem turning right into the entrance to the site. The entrance was long enough to get my unit and car on without overhanging the road. The gate is padlocked but Martin provided me with the combination before we arrived. There was plenty of space for each grass pitch and which were relatively flat without the need for chocs. The fresh water supply was near to hand and there were bins for recycling. Everything was very well kept. Connection of the electric supply was easy, and although during our stay the mains tripped on a couple of occasions as we had too many appliances on at the same time this was not a big issue. Luckily the weather was fantastic each day and I managed to walk along the nearby canal on a couple of occasions and visited Southport/ormskirk as well as a day out at the keighly heritage railway. All in all a very nice stay and I will be visiting again

One to visit again and again!

A beautifully kept, spotlessly clean site. Two sides of the site are fenced with flowering currant and honeysuckle and will be gloriously fragrant when it's in flower. Pitches are level and large, so even when the site is full you don't feel hemmed in. Martin provided a warm welcome and guided us to walks and the best time to visit Formby to see Red squirrels. Ideally placed to visit Crosby, Formby and Southport, but an equally lovely walk along the canal is close by. If you don't fancy that, just stay and chill! I can see us going back here again and again.

Lovely site

Very quiet, well kept, spotless and easy to find site. Huge pitches. Very little road noise. Lovely walks along the canal that runs behind the site. Martin is such a friendly, helpful site owner. We were the only ones there for most of our stay. We will definitely return and would recommend this site to all.

Great site

Just had 6 nights here. Pity it was rather wet and part of the site area had been under water. a couple of days earlier. Frequent use of vehicle through the site entrance gateway would have cause real problems. Owner made a reasonable request to leave vehicles in area between gated access and site access with a further comment that if moving caravan on departure would be a problem, then either tractor or Landrover would be available to assist. The site and facilities are well laid out, The only 'downside' is vision of traffic coming from right as one exits the site - but don't let that small element stop you from going.

Superb Site

This is one of the nicest sites I have used, flat, well drained and spacious. The owner is lovely and very helpful. Close to the canal (just over the bridge) and fabulous walks - try the Ship Inn, Rosemary Lane - dogs welcome, about 2 miles south along the canal (01704 840077 to book). Southport, Liverpool, Formby and Freshfield Pine woods and red squirrel reserve, Ormskirk are all within an easy drive. Don't forget to go to see Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place' at Crosby (park at the baths, it's free!) I will be going again and would highly recommend a trip to a jewel of a site.

Great Location

Just come back from a Bank Holiday weekend at this great new CL , nice and spacious pitches on well maintained flat grass pitches , plenty to do from the Site Southport Liverpool Ormskirk etc The only downside i could find was every time we left the site in the car you had to edge out on to a busy 50mph road with very poor visibility due to a Tree on the right that blocks your view BE VERY CAREFUL ITS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN .
