Super little site

Just returned from 3 nights wonderful nights at Hilltop Farm. We had a lovely warm welcome from Tricia. She showed us our pitch and the best way to pitch up too. The ground is a little uneven so you will more than likely need your levellers, but you can just about get away with no using them as we did (basically because we had trouble using ours, only 2nd time out in our van and have a lot of learning to do!), van was a little uneven but nothing that couldn't be tolerated. Tricia helped us with the awning too, there was a bit of a stiff breeze at the time making it really hard to put up so her extra pair of hands were truly welcome :-) The site itself is lovely, well kept with a gated entrance. Pitches are really well spaced out and it's so quiet with a great view. Saw loads of dragon flies which was just lovely but no other wild life sadly. Site is located next to some footpaths and a couple of minute walk to the playing field where you can exercise your dogs which is just brilliant for the early morning and late evening walks. Tricia provided us with some really useful information and a map of the local area as well. We ended up not using any of the pubs in the village, we turned up at the New Inn on bingo night (Wednesday) and the pub was packed so we headed down the road to the Axe and Cleaver at North Somercotes and received a lovely warm welcome, the pub is dog friendly in the bar area but not in the lounge. The food we had was really nice too, we'd go back. We'd most definitely go back to Hilltop, Tricia and Brian made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed.
