Fantastic setting

This CL ticked all the boxes. Although slightly sloping the all grass field was well maintained and we had the freedom to choose our position. Not the best site for large twin axle units. It was easy to find and access with the bus stop just outside the long drive. As an early riser farmyard noises were not an issue and I enjoy being in the midst of a working farm. Harrogate lovely and from there a pleasant walk to RHS Harlow Carr.

Lovely Site

Just spent three nights at this lovely site, easy to find and a great welcome from Georgina, very slightly sloping but not a problem and lovely views across the valley, will be returning soon hopefully.

Great site

Loved this site.  Made to feel very welcome. Views down the valley were beautiful.  A walk down to the next village revealed a great tea room and a corner shop opened until 8pm every evening.  The shop was well stocked. Very peaceful will definitely go back

Not for light sleepers

The site is easy to get to and welcome pleasant. Field is on a slight slope, but not a problem if you have blocks. The views are lovely and there are some nice walks from the site. Toilet very clean. The only thing that spoiled it for us was being woken up every morning at 6am by loud banging and clattering from the farm. If you are a light sleeper take ear plugs, which we will next time.

Very welcoming CL

As mentioned in other reviews, the CL is easy to find and access is excellent. The welcome and facilities are as expected. We stayed during a very wet period. The normal pitches were too wet to use. We sited our motorhome along with the other 4 guests on the edge of the site on some hardstanding. I am sure that the intended area would be great during the summer but we did not really see the CL at its best. The working farm is not an issue, it adds to the ambience! We used the hourly bus service into Harrogate but were not prepared for the £11 fare for two return tickets! However the city is well worth a visit as is Fountains Abbey about 8 miles from the CL.

One to return to

We do not usually stay on CLs - preferring the extra security of Club sites - but this site offers peace, tranquility and great views along with good level pitches and easy access to Harrogate and the local area.  Great to see all the family involved with the farm, the hens and the horses not to mention the friendly welcome from Amber and the other two dogs. Hourly bus service from just outside the site to Harrogate or Pately Bridge in the other direction. A site that we will certainly be returning to in the future.

Warm Yorkshire Welcome, Perfect for Harrogate Trade Fairs

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay on this CL in July this year, part work and part holiday.  We were attending a trade fair in Harrogate and it was a perfect base for us to get to the show, so we shall be back next year. Georgina managed the balancing act between being accessible yet unobtrusive, was there to welcome us but then left us to our own devices.  It is a well run family farm and we were never disturbed by any noise, possibly because we come from a rural area so it was just everyday noise to us.  We were impressed to see beautiful tubs of flowers in the farmyard and the area for vans is very spacious allowing a great deal of privacy.  The WC is splendidly appointed and immaculately clean - really useful for that last stop before you set off home.  The views are excellent and the ponies who often grazed alongside our field were delightful to look at. We enjoyed meals at the Nelson Inn and the Boars Head Hotel, both of which are very close to the CL.   All in all, we highly recommend it and shall definitely return ourselves.

Booked at the last minute. Very glad we did!!!

We booked the site with Georgina, the site owner on the mobile while we were 10 minutes down the road with nowhere else to stay.  We are both very glad we did!  The site is behind a working farm, very accessible, yet very quiet.    There are the usual noises from a farm – tractors and the like, but they certainly did not encroach on our stay to any great extent.  We had a warm and friendly welcome the following morning and were made to feel at home.  The views are very pleasant across the valley and it was an ideal spot to stop, relax eat and drink.      The site has several “regulars” who come every year, and have done so for many years – so that tells you it is worth considering for a break. There are pubs nearby, but we were not at the site long enough to try any. The site is clean and well-kept with nothing spoiling the CL that we could see.  No great slope either, so setting up a caravan was not much bother. Harrogate and Knaresborough are both within easy reach, as is the A1. We would certainly stop there again.
