Can’t wait to go back

Booked this CL as a last minute night away, Louise was brilliant at booking and even offered an early arrival if the pitch was vacant. We wanted a site to be able to visit York by bus and with the bus stop a 5 minute walk away it was perfect. On site there is a hut with all the up to date bus timetables with a map to help. Also there are details of walks in the area and local eating places. The owners couldn’t do enough for you and we even managed a late check out. Dunnington is lovely with two pubs and the pizza place does amazing food. My tip would be have the owners number to hand on arrival as a call is required to be let onto the site as gate locked all the time so it’s super safe. We will be back ASAP .

Back Again

This site has it all, perfect site with plenty of room in a great location. Dunnington is such a lovely village. Having been here before we knew what to expect and we were not dissappointed. Everything that other reviewers have said is true, and more. This site is immaculately kept and the water/waste etc., very well kept. Owners live on site so any problems give them a call, we didn't see them all weekend, no problem. Visited Bempton Cliffs, an RSPB Reserve, very interesting, especially if you like photography (and birds). Local mini supermarket has some lovely ready made home cooked meals - give them a try. Recommend the beef stroganoff. Will return again in the future.

Weekend At Hollytree

As we couldn't get in to the main club site in York we tried a couple of CL's near by, I'm so glad we did as we found this little gem. On arrival we were met by Louise who welcomed us and told us everything we needed to know while following SD rules, she then showed us to our pitch and left us to be with the knowledge we could call if we had any issues. The site is facilities were spot on with everything you need in a CL and spotlessly clean at that, as for Covid precautions I counted 5 dispensers for washing your hands so no issues there. The site was very tidy with plenty of space between the pitches, pitches are relatively flat so only required minimal levelling of the motorhome. As the site sits back off the main road it was very peaceful at night, there is a public path adjacent to the site but apart from a few dog walkers during the day it was quiet. The site is situated at the edge of the lovely village of Dunnington 4 miles from York, the village has a decent shop for groceries, a Pizza shop, cafe and pub/hotel. We visited the pub on Saturday evening for a few drinks and the locals were very welcoming. There is a bus stop at the end of the lane which takes you to York on a regular basis so no need to take the car into the city, also near by is a lovely nature reserve which is worth walking round. I would highly recommend this site for anyone visiting York.

A good little cl.

We stopped here for a few days travelling from Northumberland to Kent. Ideal location for us as we wanted to revisit York and also to go to Castle Howard which although expensive was well worth it. I recommend doing the audio tour which you access on an app on your phone. If you don’t have earphones they have them to buy for a £1 or so. We had a great burger meal at Bistro 10 in Stamford. Facilities all very new and clean on large pitch. A play park very nearby for children.

peaceful tranquil site

We have just spent 3 nights over May Bank Holiday at this site . A little gem of a site pitches are well spaced out grass pitches , which are well maintained with ehu , neat, tidy water and waste facilities The Cross Keys pub in Dunnington village will open May 17th which serves food. We took a walk to Hagg wood from the site and were delighted to see a carpet of bluebells throughout the wood. The site overall is a good base from which to explore York and surrounding attractions and we will certainly be revisiting this site again this year

Lovely site for North Yorkshire

So good we went back a week later. I know it's a saying overused, but what a gem. Well kept, easy access via private lane, security gate, all the facilities, info shed, just a joy to stay at. Lovely owners who deserve to succeed. I would suggest checking google maps as I found an easier way (sorry my sat nav found an easier way) to leave the site and on our second visit we used it to access the site. Fantastic area for exploring (Castle Howard, Nunnington Hall, the whole of North Yorkshire, particularly Malton was a gem). Lovely village and walk from site. Will return many times in the future. No Dogs.

Bank holiday weekend

This place is a gem, the pitches are huge and level . Very peaceful and the owners John and Louise are lovely. Dunnington village is a five minute walk away. We used the Scrap Box on Friday night (highly recommended local chippy). We had breakfast in the Old Butchers Coffee Shop which was delicious on Saturday and Sunday lunch in the Cross Keys (also delicious). Over all a far better than expected weekend. 5/5 we shall return, many thanks Lynne and Tony

Relaxing CL.

Have just spent a relaxing 6 night break at this new CL near York. Route directions were perfect, good signage on entry. Louise meet us at the gate and explained everything on site in detail. Well spaced out between pitches, and it is kept clean and tidy. Sanitization stations around the amenities area, and cleaned every day. Plenty of places too visit. We did the Hagg Wood walk, which takes you through some beautiful countryside, and back too site. Village is only a 15min walk, very oldy worldy type of Yorkshire village. Will be putting this CL on our go back list. Well done Louise & John.

Relaxing stay at new CL

We have just spent 3 nights at this new Cl which opened on 4th July and we will definitely be going back. Louise was there to welcome us on arrival and we were given the gate code and the access code for the information hut. Louise had allocated 2 very spacious pitches for us and the friends that we were meeting up with. There is EHU at every pitch and a water tap which he easily accessible for all pitches. The village is only a short walk away and has a pub and village store as well as a range of other small shops. There was an excellent fish and chips shop a short drive away on the A1079. There is also a good local bus service in to York and out towards the east coast in the other direction. The site is only about an hour away from home so ideal for a quick few days away without too much travelling. Thanks again to Louise and John and good luck with your new venture

New and Inviting CL

A new CL listed in the club magazine that fortuitously dropped through the letterbox whilst we were trying to book a few days as C19 lockdown eases. We were apparently, the second booking for this newly created CL and welcomed by Louise on arrival. They have obviously put a lot of thought in to their new venture and we would recommend a visit here. It is easily accessible and level. Information cabin, drinking water, waste water and chemical disposal all well set out and hand sanitisers located at appropriate points. Good for walks straight from the site and for cyclists it’s located directly on Route 66, Way of the Roses cycle path. Can cycle the few miles into York mostly traffic free or catch the local bus. Under normal (C19 free) circumstances there are plenty of places to visit within easy striking distance. Thanks for a lovely few days.
