One Of The Best

We have just returned home after a three night stay at Isle View Camping, our only regret is having to leave the CL the location is simply great. Lesley and Ian have a first class CL the grass was cut short and the facilities are clean and tidy, the views from the CL are stunning and are a must, overlooking Weymouth bay and Portland. We walked to weymouth and got local transport back to the CL. The coastal path is clearly marked and again views and wildlife amazing. Lesley and Ian's local knowledge was very useful and we made a visit to Tyneham a small village. The area including the village was taken over by the MOD during World War Two and used for the D Day preparations and today is within an MOD firing range.  Now having access to the public is well worth a visit if you like history. The area is none profit making and a request for donations only,  £2 is suggested but well worth more and we certainly gave more. We will certainly return to this CL, are only regret in writing this review is that more of you may wish to visit with less chance of us getting a booking, but we do not want to be selfish.  Not having electric was not an issue in anyway in fact it enhances the feel of the site more at home with nature.

Keep it to yourself!

What a fantastic find! A "real" CL. No electric (our solar panel coped well), no toilets, just a super field with a tap and a disposal point, amongst the meadows, perched on the hill top with amazing views! You have everything in your van so why not use it! Great welcome from Leslie and Ian. Not a whisper from the nearest road, only peace and tranquillity. Short fifteen minute climb down to the beach, five minutes to the nearest "local" (The Sly Fox), fourty minutes over the hill path to Osmington Mills (The Smuggler Pub), about a mile and half to the nearest small Co-op, and a couple of Fish & Chip shops. Note, field is beautiful grass but slightly sloping so you may need a small levelling device, however we got level easily without one as there was plenty of space.

Fantastic setting.

We spent 4 nights at this CL which could not be in a better place. Lesley and Ian made us very welcome, and tell us that there are plans to have electric points installed. The site is to the east of Weymouth and has open views across the bay to Weymouth and the Isle of Portland where many an hour can be spent watching the yachts and boats. The only drawback we found, was that this open aspect to the sea also means there is no protection from the wind blowing off the sea which we experienced for 3 of our 4 nights, listening to our awning attempting to take flight. Members with large caravans need to take care at the entrance especially when leaving the driveway. We will be returning to Isle View later this summer and hope for a less windy period.Thank you Lesley and Ian for providing us with this facility. Sandra and Brian.

A CL with a real view!

A new site (not yet in this years book) and really well worth a visit. The view across the bay to Portland and Weymouth is simply stunning. The owners are very friendly and are keen to listen to ideas on how to develop the site. It is very basic at the moment but very well kept. There is no power (we did not miss it), new chemical disposal and water supply points. It may be 'just' a mown field but with the views, walks, regular bus service and nearby pubs you don't have to go far to enjoy yourselves.

fantastic site

what a lovely clean and tidy site . The welcome from the owners was second to none. Such stunning views. Almost did not want to write a review as want to keep such a quiet spot unknown. Cannot wait to come back again. Possibly will be even better when they have electric
