Wonderful stay

Recently returned from this wonderful cl. Have been caravaning for over thirty years and we would certainly recommend this site. We had initially booked for five nights but we enjoyed it so much we ended up extending our stay. Owners are very welcoming and work very hard at keeping the site spotless. Nothing was too much trouble and they made every effort to make our stay comfortable. Countryside around Stafford is beautiful and there are many places to go and see during your stay. We look forward to revisiting Stable Park in the very near future.

Had a very peaceful week

Booked in here for 7 nights. The site is very well kept and the owners are friendly. Gravel hardstanding pitches are a good size a fairly level, There are water taps along the pitches to make filling up easy. We were chatting to Bill (owner) about his plans to improve the site with more facilities. The only negative is there is no drive over water dump, other than that we would definitely be back.

Problems Solved

I wrote a review about this site a while ago informing people that we had some problems but not this time round. This site is clean the pitches are large and flat and its really well kept. The problems with the gate code look to be sorted and we were met by the owners who were very friendly and helpful. We were hoping to go back in a few weeks but it looks like the coronavirus has put an end to that however we will return soon.

Overnight stay

A large flat CL with good security and access and well-spaced hard standings. The site has large areas of well-cut grass and a view of hedgerows and paddock. It is on the edge of the owner’s park home and caravan storage business but this is not too intrusive. It is quiet and good for a night stop-over if travelling on the M6, as we were, which is a 10 minute drive away. £15 per night + £2.50 to use the toilet shower block. There are no local shops. The neighbouring well-kept village of Hopton has a bus services to Uttoxeter and Stafford. The nearest pub is in the village of Salt which is a 20 minute off-road walk away through attractive countryside. Hopton is the site of a Civil War battle which is commemorated with an information board. There is more to see and do in this area if staying for longer.

Good CL but with some issues

We stayed on this site so we could arrive early at Travelworld for a Hymer service. When we booked by phone there was no email confirmation, so we had no evidence when we arrived that we had booked. The site has lovely large pitches, flat and south facing and a lot of work has gone into landscaping the area. There are only two loos and one is with the only shower. These facilities are also used by people staying in other caravans adjacent to the CL, so they really need more loos especially as there were 7 caravans and motorhomes at night. We also could not find anywhere to dump grey water from the motorhome. We go the impression that this was a new CL, so very much "work in progress"? The CL is very convenient for events at the Stafford Showground.

A great stopover

Such a great place for us to stopover while visiting Travelworld for a service. A well kept CL, great facilities, conveniences at a small extra cost, but clean and warm and well presented. Gate code was easy, each pitch was easy and being greeted by Adele and her family was appreciated. Thank you for having us. Will stop by again when we are next in the area.

Good site - admin needs attention

We selected this site for it's proximity to Stafford - where we actually picked up our brand new caravan! - and based on site facilities and reviews. We are complete novices and this was our first ever caravan outing, So we booked 2 pitches for us and our friends who are experienced caravanners and also club members. We contacted Stable Park the day before travelling up from Sussex and confirmed our booking (made in february). Unfortunately our journey up was hit by some serious traffic delays and we contacted the site upon arrival at Stafford just before 4pm only to be told that they had overbooked!! Fortunately for all concerned our caravans are very small and both were able to occupy a single pitch and we shared the electric hookup. Stable Park charged us a reduced fee (obviously) for our stay but if it wasn't for the fact that we have very good friends and small caravans our very first experience might not have gone so well. We would definately recommed the site to others; it is a nice location, good sized pitches(!) and the facilities were very clean.

Nice CL but had problems

This is the most difficult review I have written because although the cl was lovely we did have quite serious issues. Our main problem was on arrival when we came across some number coded gates, these gates are usually a nice addition but not when we were stuck there for just over an hour. We tried the call button but no answer so we tried the phone numbers on the gate several times but no answers. I decided to walk around the adjacent holiday home park and found several very nice people who tried to help but to no avail... one gentlemen even offered to take the gate off its hinges which was very kind but slightly dramatic. If I could of gone home I would of but the drive is narrow and around 100 yards long and I could not turn round. Eventually we were saved by fellow caravaners that returned from a walk and let us in, by this time my daughter was in distress as she was desperate for the toilet and my dog was in a frenzy. Later in the day one of the site owners returned our calls and was very apologetic she also said that her son would come over and explain things to us but that never happened. The second issue did not bother us at all but there was anything up to 8 units on the site during our stay. Its important to note that we had a lovely stay but some people may be affected more than we were and it is very important that we are honest in our reviews. Without these issues it is very much a 5 star site but I would worry about returning.

Super Spacious CL

Very well spaced pitches and all hard standing. Entrance is very secure through an electric gate. The spotless toilet and shower are super and worth the additional fee. Very peaceful and relaxing. Supermarkets and shops are not far away. The great asset for me was that its only a couple of miles from j14 on the M6 which makes it very handy but there is plenty of activities around to fulfill an extended stay.
