A little Gem of a place

What a lovely site and such a very warm welcome. We will definitely visit again. Ideally placed for a visit to The National Memorial Arboretum which is about a five minute drive on the back lanes or Ten minutes using the A38. Water and electric hook up and not overly crowded. The Plough Inn nearby, just a short walk along the Canal Tow Path is a very good watering hole that has very good food. The wash room facilities are spotless and spacious. A very pleasant stay.

Fantastic CL - a real gem

We booked into Kings Orchard Marina for one night en route back to Norfolk from Wales and ended up staying for two. Quiet, level grass pitches with own water. Immaculate Elsan facility and fantastic toilet facilities. Good Pub 10 mins walk away down towpath with extensive menu and reasonably priced. Lichfield is a 40 minute safe walk away - interesting Cathedral and an abundance of real ale pubs. I really cannot fault this polished site - thoroughly recommended!

Haven .... Five ticks are not enough

Our first adventure where we just pointed our Moho in a general direction and then used the club App (a brilliant help) to find our overnight stay .... and what a find. From the helpful and welcoming phone call to check availability to arriving at this stunning, tranquil location we could not have picked a better site. A little more expensive than some CLs but you get a waterside location with facilities that include shower/loo rooms that are individual, warm, clean and with plenty of hot water. Picnic tables and BBQ areas are provided in the beautiful landscaped grassy areas. There is a pub within easy staggering distance which we may try later. As I say for me, five ticks (to review this site) are not enough. What a peach of a site.

Fantastic site

We stayed at the campsite for 4 nights in April 2017. It is clean, well kept and a convenient place to stay. We highly recommend the site and can't wait to visit it again. The people were so friendly and it was lovely looking at all the boats in the marina.

Warm welcome awaits

Site was easy to find, stayed over Easter weekend. Had a great welcome from Ruth, nothing was too much trouble - needed to find a caravan/awning dealer, no problem! Lovely CL with EHU and water on each pitch. Dog was welcome too (Morris enjoyed his stay). Some noise from A38 and trains, but not a problem, lovely to watch the barges go by. Would definitely recommend The Plough PH, had a fabulous Sunday lunch and the dog was welcome. The site also had really good recycling facilities. Had a very relaxed break. Not a cheap CL, but would recommend and will return.

Interesting and attractive CL

This was our second annual visit to this CL as it is ideal for visiting family. The CL pitches are very well situated with excellent toilet/shower facilities. There is access to towpath via secure gate and (key issued) it is interesting to watch the boats on the canal as well as in the main marina. There is constant background road noise but this is not too obtrusive. Very easy access (use provided sat nav to Plough pub and then pick up clear signing to marina). Unfortunately a mix up with our booking meant that we had to move pitch part way through the week to the commercial pitches which we didn't like and spoiled the end of our stay. Please note that bookings for 'hard-standing' pitches are NOT on the CL.

Good access to canal for cycling/walking

Very well kept site with nice level pitches and good toilet and shower facilities. But then at £17.50 a night so they should be. Nice welcome with info provided about the marina. Right next to the canal (through a locked gate) with a short stroll to the pub and plenty more walking further afield. Quite a bit of traffic noise from busy main road (A38 I think) I agree with a previous reviewer though that it feels quite 'cliquey' here with certain someone bathrooms and parking spaces being labelled as 'gold service' and being for use only by boat moorers, making us CC campers feel like 2nd class citizens.  Quite like apartheid, and I abhor anything like that!

Short Break

Excellent site made to feel very welcome on arrival. Site and facilities very clean and tidy . Although near a main road and rail line this didn't make any difference to our stay here. Will definitely be visiting again in the future .

A lovely stay

We used this site as a stop off to a wedding we were going to in Wales. Great site, great facilities. Easy access to the canal for walking but cycling is a bit rough.  Lichfield Cathedral is well worth a visit as is Erasmus Darwin House opposite. Excellent facilities, agree the road and railway noise is a bit off putting but this site is well worth the visit so don't be put off.

All about location

We chose this site purely for location and weren't disappointed.  Site is well maintained and facilities are excellent.  If you are sensitive to noise there is both road and rail noise (24hrs) which I found quite intrusive for the first night.  Local pub The plough has very good food and drink.  Lovely walks along tow path.  National Arboretum is only a 10 minute drive away as is the lovely city of Lichfield
