so close to the sea!

Booked for August onto this rather pricey new CL but on arrival could see why they charge a premium. The site is within a stone's throw of the Newton dune system at Beadnell Bay, and a very short 500 metre walk to the sandy beach entrance (not a mile as another reviewer states). A new site, so the screen hedges and trees have not yet grown up. The site is at the end of the farm track and past the holiday lets. Basic but what do you expect from a CL?! Price is similar to some in the National Parks in prime locations. Anyone with childen will be pleased that the holiday let's play area is accessible and lovers of peace and quite will delight in the fact that the play area is out of sight and earshot too. A great pub in the village for food and nice walks from the site up and down the coast. We would love to return in the winter as this would be a spectacular wild and windy place to camp. The beach at Beadnell Bay is gently sloping and made of fantastic golden sand great for bathing and sand castle building. Redshanks, Curlew, Green Fritillary and Wall butterflies will keep the nature lovers happy.

excelent site

First time at this new site and it wont be our last. Location wise one of the best sites we have stayed on. The most direct way to get to the beach is via the farm entrance turn left on the road about 20 yrds up the road is a small car park on the right hand side, on the left hand side of car park is a kissing gate on to a path turn right and the beach is roughly 100 yrds down the path. Owners left us to our own devices but we prefer it that way, both Mark and the owner greeted us and spoke when we did bump in to them, as its a working farm they are very busy. We took our Grandsons with us this time and they loved the children's play area and the games room we let them have lots of freedom which they loved been 9 and 11 yrs old they made lots of new friends. The pub in the village serves excellent food and the owners are very friendly. The price is reasonable considering the facilities for children and closeness of the fantastic beach and coastal path. Our next visit will be minus children in tow looking forward to it already.

Disappointed and Overpriced

We stopped at Link House Farm for 2 nights in July 2019. On arrival there was no-one to welcome us and we had to contact the owner by phone to find out where to park up. During our stay the owner did not visit to make sure we were ok and on leaving despite trying twice and leaving a message on his answer machine he did not contact us until we were well on our way. Although the site is quiet it is not that easy to get to the dunes - it is one field from the beach but that field is full of cows and you have to walk round it, a distant of nearly a mile. In addition there are NO facilities except for electric and water that had a strange chemical taste even when boiled. We had come from a lovely site near Richmond with facilities that cost £14pn to one with no facilities that cost £20pn. As a result we will not be returning.

Comment from the Club:

Many Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that were disappointed with your stay at Link House Farm, and would like to address the concerns you have raised. With regards to the feedback concerning the site owner, please be assured that the CL owners always do their utmost to ensure members have a wonderful time and enjoy their experience. The CL owner has assured the Club that although guests are not greeted on arrival, the staff often visit site during the day and in the meantime guests can reach them if they need to do so as advised by the signage on the front gate . After speaking to the CL owner, we have been informed that he is always contactable by telephone should guests require assistance, or have any questions regarding correct site procedure i.e the payment process.

With regards to site location and facilities, as imaginable some CL’s are more catered towards certain guests needs than others, and the listing of the site does indicate what facilities are available. We are sorry if you found that the mains water provided was unsuitable or the site did not meet your expectations. We would like to assure you the site often receives positive feedback for its location, and accessibility/proximity to the beach. We hope this response adequately addresses your concerns.

What a Find

Looked online for a site near a beach. Boy what a find. One field from the coastal path, one field and a narrow sand dune from a stunning beach. Our two dogs are well salted. The site is a working farm in some very unspoilt countryside with abundant birdlife and butterflies. The site has easy access (be careful of the chickens playing chicken) is well laid our and may seem expensive but once visited it becomes obvious it is value for money. It is within easy distance of a host of notable attractions.

easter break

Very pleased with the location of the site as it was close to the beach and great for dog walking. The owners pretty much left us to our own devices and the site was well laid out and easily accessible. Site could benefit from recycling bin and price seemed a little expensive considering that it did not have toilet or shower facilities. Overall though, we had a very pleasant stay at this site.
