Lovely Week

We have just had a very peaceful week at this site. I agree with all the other reviews the site has a lot going for it, fully serviced to every pitch and all generously offered at £12 plus electric. Having just stayed at another site where walking the dog was just too dangerous to do, because of the fast road, from this site you are spoilt for choice and can easily reach the old Drovers Roman walkway and can keep going for miles. I would suggest that anybody keen on walking especially with dogs would love staying here. It was also lovely to sit outside ones caravan and armed with binoculars watch the Kestral making a kill, and see the Hobby Hawks displaying their flying skills. Within a few miles you can tour around the pretty local villages and the church at Wimborne St. Giles was inside one of the best i have seen. It was a shame that apart from one night we were the only outfit there as it is always nice to pass the time of day with fellow caravaners, however for what ever reason we did not find the owners that communicative, yes they were welcoming and quite naturally as they are running a business asked to be paid almost before we had the legs down, other than when the owner passed in their pickup we never saw them again to speak to or had a few farewell words.

Peace, beauty and country walks.

This site is absolutely ideal for a relaxing break with idyllic country walks accessed directly from the site. Ann and Richard are very friendly and the site is very neat, they also provide some useful information on local walks. We had a brilliant week walking on footpaths and bridleways for hours without even crossing a road. Great variety of wildlife seen, hares, roe deer and birds of prey, even awoke to a cuckoo calling yesterday. Also very easy access to the coast, Swanage, Weymouth etc.

The Perfect Escape!

We have just returned from two nights stay at this idyllic site! Ann and Richard are so very lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The layout of the site and pitches is excellent and really well thought out, with plenty of space between each pitch. The site is beautifully maintained and the area that surrounds the site is outstanding. If you are looking for peace and tranquility, and the opportunity to escape from the 'hustle and bustle' then this is the site for you! Thank you Ann and Richard - we will return!

Peace,Quiet and stargazing skies...

Just returned after 1 night away on this peaceful site,I didn't want to go far as it was the first night away with Socks the Cat.The site is very clean and tidy, well maintained and Ann the host was very friendly and welcoming. The 5 pitches are on gravel, each one has its own EHU and water, the electric is on a meter which was a great idea as I used less than 50p. There is chemical waste point in the shed, with bins, recycling, local information and a book swap. WiFi is free and the signal was excellent. I stayed on pitch 1 which had great views over the fields and the sheep were very friendly and quiet. There are many walks from the site along bridle paths and through pretty villages.Very close to Cranborne Chase AONB and Salisbury and its beautiful cathedral is not to far away.

Perfect cl

This cl is beautifully maintained with wonderful surroundings. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We thought the electric meter was a good idea. It was fully explained to us on our arrival, we hardly used any electric at all! Our pitch had a drain and water tap, very convenient. Lovely area for walking, we found our stay nice and relaxing. We look forward to returning.

Tranquil Site

Just returned from a 3 night break on this peaceful site. The pitches are on gravel and have good views over the fields. Wifi is excellent, better than at home!  We cycled for miles along quiet roads and tracks. There are many walks from the site over the downlands and through pretty villages. We had a tasty lunch at the Garden Centre at Cranborne.

remarkable value for fully serviced site

Stayed here in May 2015 . Booking extremely efficient. Made very welcome on arrival. Excellent facilities. Expected some noise from nearby barns... but there was none ... great. Lovely area for cycling and walking. Sorry we had not booked for longer ... we will return for sure.

Perfect Relaxation

We have been caravanning for over thirty years and apart from a few years at the start have not used CLs much. In the early days they tended to be a little scrubby corner of a farmer’s field, and we soon preferred to stick to Club Sites. We have decided to make a return to CLs and booked this site in the middle of July for a few days. What a surprise we had when we arrived. The location and outlook is fantastic, it is absolutely peaceful and the warm welcome from Ann and Richard was incredible. The layout of the site has been well thought out and the facilities were more than sufficient including free Wi-Fi, we were a little concerned when we booked that the electricity was metered but in reality this proved to be a most favourable alternative to “all inclusive”, and even with all the mod cons that our modern caravan has we used just under £1.00 a day which included an all electric fried breakfast in the awning each morning. We love Dorset and coupled with this little corner of tranquillity we enjoyed a most relaxing few days; so much so that we extended our stay to two weeks and would have extended by another had we not had an appointment at home that prevented it. Our dog also enjoyed the many extensive walks along seemingly never ending farmers tracks accessed directly from our pitch. All in all our stay at Lower Farm was a marvellous experience and we came away totally relaxed. The location, layout and facilities were perfect but above all the warmth and hospitality of our hosts Ann and Richard was second to none. We will certainly be returning next year.

Great CL

This a perfect example of how great a CL can be. The access is pretty good given you are in rural Dorset, there are plenty of passing places and the end result is worth it. The CL is very level and the pitches lovely. The whole site it clean and very well maintained. We were a little concerned about the metered electric as we have never come across this on a CL but it really wasn't a problem. We used less than a £1 over two days and that was incl fridge, kettle, TV and a cooked breakfast on the hob! Richard and Ann Friend are really helpful and keen to ensure you have a good stay.  We will definitely be back with friends soon

Just Right

We thoroughly enjoyed our five days at this lovely, peaceful and well cared for site.  We were warmly welcomed and given a very useful explanation of the facilities and surrounding area so we were able to get on with enjoying our time here. We did some excellent walks and began to explore but there is so much more to see and do that we look forward to future visits to this most pleasant site. The free wifi is very welcome.
