Love this site

We have visited Manor Farm on many occasions and have always found Mick, the owner, to be pleasant and very helpful. The site is so peaceful and it's lovely to have a field full of sheep right next to the van and Micks free range chickens visiting for their shreddies at breakfast time! The location is excellent for those who love the sea and the moors and the pub, which is just a couple of minutes walk away, is beautiful. The site has a loo and shower which is useful and unusual on a CL. There are also two water points. We have been to several other CL's but always find ourselves drawn back. Many thanks to Mick and his lovely wife and to the chickens who lay such delicious eggs!

Nice site. Spoilt by very poor facilities

Small but pleasant enough site. Very poor toilet and showers. Grubby, smelly, unpleasant ..and owner has the temerity to charge 50p. A fact not stated when booking was being will not return. Handy for the glories of Yorkshire. Just a shame the owner is not prepared to put back into the site some of the profits he is accruing from tourers and storing of caravans. Cannot recommend the site. If and when decent facilities are provided the owner needs to advertise the fact. We might..just might..return in that event.

Another nice visit.

We have just had another nice 4 night stay.Everything was nice and peaceful as it always is. We were in the large field at the top looking across the sheep field. We wil surely be back again.

One of the very best CLs.

Wonderfully situated especially if you are a walker. Superb views and an owner whose aim is to give everyone a great stay. Nothing is too much trouble. Site is kept beautifully mown and he is always about to help if needed. His adjacent site is small, run on similar lines to a CL and primarily for use by friends and "regulars". In many years of staying I have heard plenty of unprompted praise for this CL and no adverse comment at all. We could do with more like this.

Not what we expected, let down.

We booked this site based on the reviews of other members, and were very disappointed. When we arrived there were already 5 vans on the site, and by the end of the next day there were 7 in total. I notice that overbooking has been mentioned in another review. The site may have nice views, but due to overcrowding, we couldn't see anything apart from the side of another van.   The waste water/sluice is in an adjacent field, which was full of caravans as well, so it meant walking through other peoples pitches, and stepping over several electric hook up cables that seemed to be fed from a barn across the site. Not a good situation. So all in all a let down.

Repeat visit

We have stayed on this site on a couple of occasions when we wanted to be close to Scarborough.   Site is well kept with efforts made to plant lovely flowers and shrubs around the site.    Easy access to the site, some pitches required use of levelling blocks.   Toilet clean and tidy, shower looked nice although we usually use our own shower.    Local pub/restaurant serves good food, though not cheap.   Only a short drive into Scarborough and all its attractions.
