Base to explore for N Wales, Cheshire & Wirral

This is a small site that is set back away from a very busy A road. At commuter times the noise can be very distracting. A kind of alarm clock. If the traffic doesn't wake you the 'posh' cockerel will certainly awaken you. This is a smallholding and the owner was very welcoming. There are chickens that come to your door and scurry around the pitches, which are next to llamas and next door, cows. There is a neat dog walk around the site which is fenced in. I am afraid we found the solitary toilet 'The Dunny' to be it's let down. To use it I had to leave the door open to sit down before closing it. I think this might be an area to focus on, if only to make it bigger. It was clean however. The Elsin point was a toilet left in the open next to it. Again clean and functional. The plusses for us were the mains services on each pitch - mains water and grey waste, along with EHU, and the site was fairly level. For the very reasonable cost, this is a fantastic location from which to explore, but not one that encourages sitting out and about the pitch at busy traffic times. Very friendly site and the animals were very amusing in their antics.

We had a really enjoyable sightseeing week there.
